Also a tip for bandit players. If you make holes in the wall BEFORE you reinforce it, then the sound will come through the wall better. So make a hole on the left side and the right side, and sit in between them.

Hey just wanna say i think there is a way to counter the tactic you said at the end. Yes bandit does have a time difference before placing another battery but, if the bandit is smart he could listen for the emp grenade and shot his own battery instead of having it be destroyed by doing this it actually negates the time difference he has and he can immediately place down another battery. This tactic is much more difficult to do but it does allow for very interesting chess like thinking I've seen this happen only 3 times(Y2 S1 pro league) and it's honesty very mesmerizing to see the high level of skill and focus that both parties need to do to "win"

A lot of us veterans assume that everyone knows this kind of thing, but really this kind of knowledge takes a long time to learn, something that new players don't really have in the game yet. So it's definitely a great idea to teach some of the strats used in higher ranked play to help them learn once they get the core mechanics and map knowledge down. Great video and I can't wait to see the rest of the series however I couldn't help but to add a bit more from my experience watching youtube videos and playing the game: First off, if you know that you are going to Bandit trick bring either a C4 or a Shotgun. If you blow holes in the wall with either the shotgun or the C4 and then reinforce the wall Sound will travel through the wall faster and clearer. However this only works when you communicate with your team otherwise a friendly might try to reinforce the wall you are about to turn in to Swiss cheese and can cause misunderstandings and Teamkills. Second, on your thermite/Tatcher team up. It can easily be countered with either a valk camera or blowing holes in the wall to let sound in. It is possible to hear Thatcher's EMP grenade when it hits the wall or floor or you could have a Valkyrie camera to give call outs. Basically, once you hear the EMP grenade rolling on the ground you pick up the Bandit wire. The time it takes to pick up the Bandit wire is actually faster than the time it takes for the EMP grenade to blow up (also, the bandit wire will not be destroyed if you are in the picking up animation). Then you can place the shock wire back down to take down the Exothermic Charge. This will not work on Hibanna but having a mute handy might would be able to stop the Hibanna charge from being able to detonate for a short period giving you enough time to destroy it with Bandit Wire.

I wonder, how reliable is Bandit tricking nowadays? We have an operator like Maverick who can't be countered, and you also have the option to bring any softbreachers to make a hole above or underneath him to get rid of him. not to mention Zofia can do all that, but also use concussion to sort of keep Bandit from hearing which side is going to be breached. Or Buck and Sledge can throw grenades in the drone hole next to him (oftentimes there won't be an ads or a magnet to defend the bandit.

The strat to counter your counter strat of the bandit trick is called advanced bandit trick. The bandit listens to the sound queue of throwing a thatcher nade, then he shoots his own battery and immediately places another one. So the thatcher nade goes of while he places the battery and the thermite charge gets destroyed. This works even better with a mira window for watching thatcher throwing or a teammate shooting the battery.

I usually like asking a teammate to place a mirror on those important walls like garage walls, or play mira as they bandit. As long as the mirror stays up it becomes very easy to bandit trick. Just don't get cocky by letting a thermite walk up to a wall, only to switch to another while you're in the middle of the place animation, to low to the ground to see where he is.

That's only a strategy that's useful for juggling single walls against hibana. You can reduce the time it takes to electrify a wall using this so it's faster than HIbana shooting+detonating the pellets, thus keeping a single wall electrified through three EMPs if you have all four batteries on you. There's no way to juggle Hibana reliably when there are multiple panels, it pretty much comes down to luck.

There is a way to counter that Thermite-Thatcher strategy. I used it with a friend of mine in ranked once. He was Bandit and I was Mute. We had Snowmobile Garage as an objective. After Thatcher destroys Bandit's gadgets, I placed a Mute jammer. If Thatcher threw another EMP grenade, Bandit would place his gadgets again. If Thatcher throws another EMP, place another mute. It is not easy to do, it didn't work out when we did it because Bandit went wondering off. But I think it is possible :)

Another way to counter bandit if there is a drone hole next to the reinforced wall, cook a frag grenade and throw it in while Thermite puts down his charge. If your lucky you might even get an injure :) Takes a little practice but its well worth it when you get it down.

Hey Varsity, on the subject of Thermite and Thatcher vs Bandit (around 4:40). If Bandit is sitting next to his walls, and he hears Thermite and Thatcher doing that tactic, can't he take out his battery, hold Mouse 1 on the wall until the Shock Wire is destroyed. The Shock Wire's deploy time is shorter than the Exothermic detonation time, so he will get his Battery down and destroy the Thermite charge fast enough.

Has this been changed alot recently? Because i tried bandit tricking for the first time today without having read or seen anything about how you do it. I just heard of the concept. And well, i completly countered thermite, thatcher and hibana by just placing batteries when i heard them trying to trigger. The hibana and the thermite messed up and went out of sync, but still, it seemed way to easy? And I have bad reaction times, like slightly below avrage. Did I just fluke out?

Another way to counter Bandit tricking is to make sure there's no shock wires currently on it. Then just have Hibana shoot a single charge between 2 walls, that way Bandit doesn't have enough time to get both sides before Hibana can set off her pellets.

Not really. If you blow holes in the wall before reinforcing it you will be able to hear more sound. The added sound gain will allow you to hear the EMP as it rolls along the floor allowing you to pick up the bandit wire without it being destroyed and then place it back down. The bandit wire can not be destroyed during the animation so during the pick up and place down animation the bandit wire will not be destroyed if the EMP goes off earlier or later than you expect it. Side Note: This trick won't work on Hibanna because she can put down and detonate X-Kairos faster than Thermite. The only way to counter Hibanna is to put a mute jammer on the wall to keep her from detonating it and then as soon as the EMP destroys the mute jammer you place the bandit wire.
