While watching this I think of the reason why Ice King actually collects princesses and his back story: He collects princesses because his last memory before he became completely insane because of the crown, was that he called Betty (his wife) his princess, so now he's in search of his princess. Simon has so much story behind him, and his character development though out the show makes him the creepy pervy character, to the misunderstood, helpless old man, and in the end when he finally found his princess (Betty) he lost her, again, but she wasn't coming back this time.
