It's a song with the meaning of ... taking chances, rolling the "Dice". The girl in the video has a blindfold on, she's in her child stage, hence the doll, at the end she takes off the blindfold and drops the doll, because she now sees the world and that she has options to which path she follows. A song of awakening, "seize the moment"

These ladies dont give a crap about genre, they call themselves hard rock, but they can and do use every type and sub-genre of rock, then throw some blues or jazz riffs in, then step back and forth into metal, sometimes all in one song, many reactors have started to say Band-Maid is their own genre

Ok here is a text file about the song Dice. Seems like everyone freaks out about the doll... The song's basically about taking risks, seizing opportunities, putting in the work to get the rewards. Roll the dice. Take your shot. The doll is just a doll. It's harmless - in fact, that's kind of the point. The doll is a simulated person, it's safe. The girl is blindfolded, in the dark, holding the doll for comfort. She's sheltered. At the end of the video the girl abandons the doll, lifts up the blindfold, steps into a blinding light that represents the uncertainty and opportunity that she's been hiding from. This song is a call to arms. In Japan they have a sub-culture of shut-ins, people who are either unemployed or under employed who basically won't move out on their own. They stay in their parent/grandparent's home basically playing with dolls or video games, instead of getting out and living life and trying to better themselves. This song is calling them out. Challenging them, "Are you gonna stay in there playing with DOLLLLLLLLLS like a little kid? Or are you going to stand up take off the blindfold, leave the dolls and games behind and step out into the real world?" At the end of the video, the girl puts down the doll, takes off the blindfold and steps into the light. It's called Hikikomori in Japan and is defined as: "pulling inward, being confined", also known as severe social withdrawal, is total withdrawal from society and seeking extreme degrees of social isolation and confinement. Hikikomori refers to both the phenomenon in general and the recluses themselves. The concept is primarily recognized only in Japan, although similar concepts exist in other languages and cultures. Hikikomori have been described as loners or "modern-day hermits". Estimates suggest that half a million Japanese youths have become social recluses, as well as more than half a million middle-aged individuals. - Definition from Wikipedia The Ladies have other songs that are written to be uplifting and positive, yet they have songs like Dice, which are designed to bring attention to societal issues. Such as The Dragon Cries (Environmental Issues), and Hate? (Fidelity Issues). There are a few others but my mind is draing a blacnk on their titles at the moment.

A break is a type of bridge where you go slower or play more quietly, typically, and might use the same chord progression. Other sorts of breaks typically introduce a new chord progression. A "breakdown" takes the musical composition and cuts most of the music out, often leaving just one or two instruments, and reintroduces elements one at a time or in other patterns until the breakdown bridge ends and a chorus or verse ensues. Bridges are most often between two choruses near the end of the song, but you can bridge between a verse and a chorus, or vice versa, or other possibilities. Band-Maid does them all... they always FEEL like they're in a typical place, but they are musically interesting in how they arrange them.

For your third Band Maid, try a video with a peaceful tea party on a beach: “The non-fiction days” (There may or may not be flamethrowers involved) 😊 EDIT! I’m starting to think you deserve a different song. Yes, you are correct with the term “bridge.” Or an “interlude.” There is no “break” in music terminology. The most beautifully crafted song with a tremendously impressive bridge and harmonies is “Blooming,” official music video. That is your jam!

Dude's the next Band-Maid song you NEED!!!!! to react to is "Hate?", the official live video from their 10th Anniversary Tour finale concert in November 2023. Band-Maid paired "Dice" back-to-back with "Hate?" during the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago in August 2023. Despite the shitty camerawork of the Hulu folks during the broadcast by the Hulu Network, it was an absolute banger that the crowd loved.
