Bandos w/ Tumeken's Shadow & Ice Ancient Sceptre (Easiest Freeze Method)(Updated DPS Calcs/comments)

----Updated DPS calcs/Freeze chance/info about magus/ice sceptre below 5:0 video for unlimited trips w/ eldritch which is a nice method but I do like this freeze method a lot more after trying it kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIO5gniJbcSobas Today I went back to Bandos and tested out the new Ice Ancient Sceptre. This does have a 10% increased freeze effect(21 seconds instead of 19.2 with ice barrage) along with a 10% increase for accuracy. This new weapon isn't on dps calcs yet so i calced it myself using the formula in step 4 here : oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Damage_per_second/Magic Using the formula where Accuracy roll is more than defense roll I got these numbers This is also calcing for 174 magic attack in the formula with mage gear 1- (25920+2) / (2(32218 +1) = 59.78% Calcing other bosses like the nibblers in inferno the kodai is actually better. This is because magic level/defense effects the 10% increase in accuracy. The 10% might not be close to 10% at other bosses. This means that the new ice sceptre has a 59.78% chance to freeze bandos. This is a pretty big increase which the magus also increases by 3%. The freeze chances with weapons are below Shadow - 52.58% regular ancient sceptre - 54.57% Kodai wand - 56.05% Ice ancient sceptre - 59.78% Shadow- 49.25%(No magus) Kodai wand - 53.20%(no magus) So along with having a 59.78% chance to freeze bandos the freeze also lasts about 2 seconds longer. This really becomes a good method when you look at drop rates for food along with having a chance to freeze the boss about every 2 ice barrages. You can pretty much kite the boss around the room and just freeze/blood barrage minions. Below I put some dps calculations for different weapons i've used in some other videos. Like, is this 10% increased accuracy based on your magic level + magic accuracy provided by gear? - Am I understanding correctlly that, effectively, the 10% increase in accuracy will increase accuracy more the higher accuracy your mage gear is with it? I guess like void? The way I understand mage void is that the higher bonus you have in extra slots like in boots/shield/cape etc. will be more valuable because of the multiplier of accuracy(?)

Sceptre accuracy is a little bit low I would save for eldritch/sgs to get longer trips. It only increases dps by about .5 with I think 60% accuracy if I remember looking at calcs

When it comes to landing the freeze, is it better to have magic accuracy rather than damage? I can't wield an Elidinis (F), so is it better to bring a Mage book for the better accuracy compared to a regular Elidinis Ward?

it would be more accurate to have the mages book than a non fortified elidinis ward. Ward has 52% accuracy. Mages book has 54% accuracy and fortified ward has 56%. these are without the ice sceptre since it still isn't on calcs so it would be a bit more accurate with it

Perhaps its possible to take both the ice and blood quartz with the sceptre so you freeze hi mfor longer and then get better overheals

Yea it’s still profitable at 4m gp+ per hour. Your only using around 10k-30k per kill so not using that much in supplies. I had a 4+ hour trip where the only supplies I used were shadow charges/blood/ice barrage and had unlimited food/pray from bandos drops so not much gp lost

How big a difference does the ice sceptre make? Is it worth farming for or can I get away without it.

Freeze is usually around 50% accuracy without the sceptre at 99 mage and ahrims, so unless you know how to kite the sceptre is important

You can try freezing without the sceptre it does feel like it’s a lot harder to freeze bandos though. As long as you can kite boss for a bit/only take 1 attack from boss before running to other side of room the freeze method will work

I see that, I have been using nothing but the shadow for freezes and blood spells and I can get pretty solid trips. But every once in a while boss will resist like 7 freezes unluckily and it usually chunks me.

No, u want accuracy, which the ice sceptre gives. Blood sceptre is worth it tho since it can over heal hp by 10% on minions.

Not really for just blood barrage and freezes but it could be nice for the extra defense since its only .4 less dps with shadow on bandos. it doesn't effect freeze accuracy also and blood barrage on minions is pretty strong with ancestral

I might try at zammy but not sure if I’m going to do calcs or make a video at boss. I tried freezing with shadow before and could barely get any freezes. I think % chance to freeze was around 30-50% also. It would be really nice if magus/sceptre increase chance to freeze at 50-60% like bandos

they both have a freeze time of 21 seconds it just doesn't have the extra 10% accuracy with the regular sceptre

Don't think accuracy would be that high for boss even with sceptre. I've tried a few months ago and would miss 5+ freezes sometimes. Sara is a lot harder to freeze compared to bandos/zammy and freeze accuracy was about 35%

Use radius markers for the magers and use rotation 11 with fc spawn predictor and its fairly easy, can safe spot all magers except for 4 spawns - aa long as you can 1t lazy flick magers you'll be fine Kill everything else without prayer and don't let a bat reach you.
