You are wrong. There a resistor remaining at Vx to ground.

True, but that only minorly changes the transfer function because the KCL of EQ1 changes. You can derive this pretty simply by adding a single term to the KCL (Vx-0)/R. The important part, the method of tackling such filter circuits, is shown correctly.
