This is such a solid way of doing this. I made a similar ststem with pvc but it doesnt do nearly as good of a job now with my new carbide tooth blade. It just doesnt encapsulate the blade like your system. Will be copying yours for my rikon

@@JakeThompson went to do this today with my 14 in Nikon, and the table doesn't have the clearance between the bottom of the table and the lower bearing guide assembly to allow this to sit under the table insert. it sits too far back and barely picks up dust when the saw is in use. does fine if I just dump saw dust into the insert. but once the blade is added to the equation, the added force behind the saw dust is too much for how far away the actual suction is. back to the drawing board. maybe revise my original design but to take up more space under the insert. or time to buy a 3d printer haha

fantastic solution! I have a new bandsaw coming in the mail as well as a dust collector. Maybe I'll just skip the dust ports and make one of these things!

Very good test and I like it. I wonder how the new intake would work hooked directly to the big collector and no shop vac. Hummmmm

The big dust collector won’t do as well through a smaller hose.. and a big reason for doing this is the noise.. the big dust collector is a considerable amount louder than the shop vac. 🦾

Thank you Mr. Haydon.. I think on the big dust collector is just holding the door shut on the bandsaw.. other machines have a great deal of airflow that will help collect fine dust floating around.. I’m not sure that’s the case on the bandsaw.. and even after making this video.. there’s pretty much no dust being left after the shop vac does it’s job.. hope to see you again someday. Jake
