Fun Fact, when Duncan was applying was around the Rivets and seams, we actually have to do that IRL on aircraft. It seems long on a model, imagine how long it takes on a aircraft fuselage with 10,000 bolts in just the main barrel.

I just want to say thank you Duncan. When I discovered your old GW paint videos back In 2017 it inspired me to get back into miniature war games for the first time in 20years and it helped me learn core painting techniques. Without your videos I would have never been bold enough to continue learning more painting styles, thank you so much! I think I can speak for everyone and say you and all your affiliates who bring us great content have been a shining grace (Elden ring pun) for us all in these difficult times.

I know this is two years late. I tried, i really really tried. I saw this and was convinced it was the coolest paintjob I ever saw. I ran out and got a Baneblade, built it, primed it and admired the beast. Then i started painting and now i just want to throw it away. It looks nothing like this. the bands are so hard to align. The paint doesnt dry clean, its streaky, I can't deather it worth a damn. This video gave me hope. and now it's crushed,

43:40 that brown gunk reminds me of grease residue you’d get around the track tensioner on my real life APC as it would attract dust and sand no matter how careful you were to clean excess away. Same for the bolts on the road wheels.

I'm don't know if there's a reason to not care in the 40K universe, but in RL, the interior of tank hatches are almost always painted in the base exterior color. The interior of a tank is normally painted white, cream, or ivory to improve visibility -- light reflecting off the interior illumination -- inside the tank, but the inside of the hatches are painted the same color as the exterior so as to not have a highly visible indicator showing the location of the tank. But for a tabletop game, it's just a stylistic thing.

You can cut all the shading down into a 10 minute job with Tamiya Panel Liner. Get it one there with a brush with a good sized reservoir, then brush it off with a wide brush dampened with Tamiya Enamel Thinner. As long as the acrylic paint is dry and you use the right thinner, they won't interact and you get a good clean shade over everything that you can reactivate and keep cleaning off if you don't like it. Is how I did my own Krieg tanks and I can knock out a Russ in like 2 hours at a high quality.

Thanks for all you've done to make me a better painter! Question: if you did do a desert camo on this what colors would you have picked 🤔
@w4rpf1nnlad2 жыл бұрын
Desert camo looks best (IMO) when done with 3 colors so maybe Karak Stone (khaki), Rhinox Hide (dark brown) and Nurgling Green (light green)? It might look awesome when khaki and green are stippled like duncan does his baneblade, plus some smaller patches of dark brown in between.
