Im going in February as a solo traveller. Do you think banff is a good place for solo travellers? I dont drive so will transportation be an issue for me? Thanks for any advice!
@imagiscope5 жыл бұрын
Banff is safe. During the winter months the town will be occupied by many "solos" working in and around the area from all over the world (ski season). The public transport is good, so you will have no problem getting around. The town is not too big, so walking is also an option. Dress warm, February can get cold.

Take the airport bus to avoid paying national park fees and renting a vehicle with snow tires, Banff has a great transit system and you can walk everywhere. Also do yourself a favour and skip Norquay!!! add an extra day at louise or sunshine since your already in banff
@Bertin09095 жыл бұрын
edit just saw your bringing your dog so buses arent an option but still skip Norquay lol

Is it really difficult driving a car from Calgary to Banff in January?
@imagiscope5 жыл бұрын
It usually takes a day for the roads to be cleared of snow after a snowfall. Generally, 80% of the time the roads are in good condition and clear, the other 20% of the time you'll want to be comfortable driving in winter conditions. If you're not comfortable driving in the winter, there are buses that will take you from Calgary to Banff (see description)

Can I go on my own to the Johnston Canyon 30 mints trail? Or do I need to pay guide tour?
@imagiscope4 жыл бұрын
You can go on your own. There is no charge for hike (included in Park admission). Fairly easy walk, the paths are well marked. You'll need a car (or other transportation) to get there. Parking is limited so you may have to park on the roadway. Enjoy.

Hi thanks for the video! Is mid April a good time for visiting? We wanna ski but also enjoy some nature and maybe see some wildlife. Also is Ice Skating on Lake Louise in April still possible?
@imagiscope3 жыл бұрын
It's probably a little too late in the season for ice skating. For safety, if there is even ice, it would be too thin. Ski season will usually extend as long as there is snow (spring skiing). The melting usually begins March/April. So, you may miss out on some winter activities at mid April.

I'm going in November! I hope there's enough things to check out. It's neither summer or winter time so it's off season and many places are shut. Only time I could get off work though :(

There will still be plenty of stuff to do. Enjoy your trip.

Also, just into BC is Emerald Lake (video coming soon) and the Columbia ice fields on your way to Jasper. Both are easily accessible with a car within a few hours (the scenery is awesome along the way).

it's unacceptable to charge per day for visiting nature. even dictator countries have more freedom. maybe you guys have different concept of freedom?
@CD3MC3 жыл бұрын
Technically the fee is only for those arriving by personal vehicle. Bus passengers are exempt. And if you're staying in the park for more than a week $65 will get you a year's pass. The administration of the park is quite costly, and given that Banff alone accounts for half of national park visits in Canada, the fees help to recover some of that cost. (Especially considering the proportion of foreign visitors)
