I smiled watching this entire video! I’ve lived in Alberta my entire life. Seeing how excited you were to visit all these places made my heart incredibly happy. I love Canmore Banff and Lake Louise more than you could ever know. I’m headed there in June! If you are ever able to visit in summer months I highly recommend the “tea house” hike in Lake Louise, it’s a decent incline but the views & experience are worth it. Plus then you can buy (cash only) tea, soup & cookies when you arrive at the top. Oh & also the building behind the head sculpture is called “The Bow” my uncle used to work there & was able to give me a tour, I felt like I was in NYC being up so high. Thanks for another great video!

I live in Vancouver while my boyfriend lives in Calgary and so every time I visit, I always demand that he drives me to Banff/Canmore 😂 I never get tired of staring at the Rockies and seeing Moraine Lake. Hiking in the summer is AMAZING so next time you visit in the summer, I recommend Devils Thumb or Plain of Six Glaciers at Lake Louise for an easy (but long) hike

Glad you enjoyed your trip. Im a Calgary local, we live downtown on 17th ave SW (The Red Mile). Living in Calgary we are so lucky to have the mountains ,lakes so close to the city. We try to get into Banff, Canmore ,Kananakis Lake Louise every Saturday to hike, snowboard , bike etc. I love how you mentioned the frozen waterfalls , we just did Spirit Bear Trail a few weeks ago, we also the Larches in fall they are truly amazing, if you ever come back plan for them ,if your not local it's a once in a lifetime experience only have a short window to see them. As well in Calgary check out the Red Mile (17th ave and Stephen ave) for some amazing food , shops and pubs/clubs. We also do the Greatest Outdoor show on earth (Calgary Stampede) and we host Country Thunder Festival , Calgary Flames ,or a Stamps game , we host Horror Con , Calgary Zoo , Telus Sparks center etc .There is so much to do here you will never be bored. If you ever come back my wife and I could show you some amazing sites and all the best places in Calgary. Our local small businesses and restaurants are worth the trip alone. Glad you enjoyed stay safe and thank you for sharing

As Allison said near the end, there are some higher mountain ranges in the World, like the Himalayas and its associated ranges in Asia, the central Andes in South America, and the Alaska-Yukon St. Elias-Wrangell Range, but among the intermediate height mountain ranges of the World, such as the Alps, the Pyrenees, the American Rockies and Sierras, the American and Canadian Cascade and Coast Mountains, the southern Andes in Patagonia or the Caucasus and the Alborz Mountains where Europe meets Asia, Canada's Rockies are right up there among the best of them due to their bold and dense numbers of peaks, huge rock walls, myriads of lakes, waterfalls, rivers and streams, abundant wildlife, and the many glaciers everywhere in every size, shape and position. The unique, dynamic but relaxed ambience of the region combining the historic with the modern adds to the charm, although the human presence is small due to the huge National and Provincial Park reserves which keep most of the region wild.

Been to Banff/Jasper/Yoho parks region for about 10 weeks now over 3 trips. So I'll try to link up places I think are shown. 01:59 It's Loki! One of the wolf dogs at Yamnuska 04:08 Vermillion Lakes? 04:15 Lake Minnewanka. On the way also go to Cascade Ponds and Two Jack Lake both are must stops. 04:33 Banff Gondola on Sulphur Mountain. - I have never done this at night that's so amazing gonna have to try. 05:35 Johnston Canyon.05:54 Lower Falls, 06:05 Upper falls? Looks so different frozen. Definitely use cleats or micro spikes depending on trail conditions. I went in May and yes, other people fell down, especially going down the slope to lower falls before the bridge. 06:42 Crazy Weed- is in Canmore and I've heard it's good but never been. Across the street from it is the Curbside Museum and it's a cute tiny window "museum". 06:48 The Malcom hotel- right in front of it is a sculpture called "The Heart of Canmore". Tips on when to go. If you want solitude and the cheapest rates try Winter. Be aware LOTS of things are unavailable during the winter. If you want smaller crowds and generally cheaper rates try shoulder months. Be aware, especially in April/May/early June that LOTS of things will still be closed or inaccessible unless you're willing to use micro spikes / cleats. Examples- Lake Agnes teahouse, Moraine Lake, Takkakawa Falls are all usually closed until mid June...weather dependent year to year. If you want to see most things at it's most beautiful Peak season Mid June through August. Just be aware it's incredibly expensive and crowds can become overwhelming...especially on weekends. Be sure to reserve WAY in advance, especially if going in peak season as things will get tight and prices surge. If it's out of budge to stay in Banff- Canmore is a great alternative, you can also go even further away in Deadman's Flat or even Stoney Nakoda hotel/casino - It's about 40 minutes out of Banff but rates are much more reasonable. Never stayed there but it looks fine.

Thanks for your nice video.

So happy I stumbled across your channel today, really really well done travel videos! I’m from alberta and have lived all over it, it was fun watching someone come experience it with fresh eyes. The activities you did to me are just ‘normal’, like the wolf dog sanctuary, I have a friend who owns a genuine wolf dog!! And yes they are NOT like regular dogs and are NOT easy to take care of. And we made a quick weekend trip to Banff just last month that was near identical to the stops and scenes you did! The mountains really can’t be ‘captured’ in camera or video, they must be experienced. The air is different when you’re among them, and there’s such a sense of peace in the air in those mountain towns-definitely my favorite thing alberta has to offer! One of the BEST things one can do is soak in a hot tub on a chilly day in the mountains! And Calgary’s library is possibly the coolest thing in Calgary, it’s stunning!! Worth the detour and spending some time wandering the floors :)
