In this video I show you guys my newest speakers, the Beovox CX50's from Bang & Olufsen. These ones are in need of a refoam as the foam surrounds have rotted and fallen apart. Because the replacement parts from the Netherlands haven't yet arrived I thought I chat along and show you my first impressions. They are that the speakers are surprisingly solidly made and weigh a lot for their size. I listened to them quietly and was again, surprised with how smooth, clear and rich they where. Also there was an added richness in the upper bass section that I was not expecting from them as i've been told the bass on the CX50's is weak. I'm guessing this richness is helped by the fact I am using my beautiful Beocenter 9000 which will undoubtedly be adding more of a kick. I'd love to hear your guys' opinions and if you have any tips for refoaming.

You did not show the re foaming process

Sorry man, this was more of an update video, In my VLOG #12 I show you them re foamed with the glue still drying but I couldn't risk trying to concentrate and film at the same time, I would have ruined them.

Just purchased my first Beovox CX50’s, just wondering why people re-foam these when they’re from the 80’s rather than replacing the whole driver with a modern replacement? Thanks

Thanks, I used an M42 mount Carl Zeiss f1.8 @f2.8 with a bower m42 to nikon adapter :)
