No.. there is no such route. Pls don't worry about these ghats.. they are not dangerous as long as you drive during the day and stay within speed limits

You can either come to Mangalore from Manipal and continue towards Bangalore or from Manipal go directly towards dharmasthala-Belur-Hasan and from there to Bangalore. I am not sure of the road conditions now near Sakleshpur or Charmadi ghat but from Hasan to Bangalore is 4 lane highway

Hi You drove pretty fast 5.5 hrs including stops.......dhruvthare is good restaurant...I usually have one stop there.....observed you overtook in the curves...I normally have 3 to.4 trips in a year.....takes me 6 hrs drive time.... Take care....drive safe...

Yes, there are 3 different routes you can take and all of them have ghats. You have to traverse western ghats to reach Mangalore.

Actually I have travelled that route(for Mangalore) a year back, so not sure of the road conditions on Charmadi right now, but it was good then. For going Manipal, I guess Charmadi is a better option however please check maps and make an informed decision. Sorry, cudnt be of much help.

If you are new, then it would take an hour minimum to cross the ghat. Be rest assured that it's not a dangerous ghat by any means, however be careful at turns as some idiots coming from opposite direction try to overtake on blind turns. It's best if you find a truck and follow it from a safe distance.

That was a really good travelogue. I was told the road from Blore to Mlore is full of ghat section and very difficult to drive. Didn't appear so in ur video. Is the ghat section so bad and long? We r planning to go next month, ur advise wud be hugely appreciated.

There is only one ghat on this entire road.. its the Shiradi ghat and even this ghat road is very good. It's not at all dangerous, though there is almost 70 - 80km stretch which is a 2 lane highway. A small stretch between Hasan and Sakleshpur is not so good but manageable. Have a nice trip.

Blore to Mlore in 5.5hours is amazing. Last I drove took almost 9 to 10 hours (bad shiradi ghat roads). Whats speeds you maintained? Your vehicle engine's roar sounds tooo good... whats inside? ;-))

No modifications done to the engine my friend... Roads are much better, so it's possible to cover the distance. Avg speed of 70kmph

You said you were driving at 100 to 120 kmph...it's not safe to cross 100kmph...try to maintain the speed between 80-90... You will reach 30 min late but you will be safe..
