Para os BRs que tão vendo carro BR, botem uma coisa na cabeça. Não é só o Brasil que tem Corsa, Ford Ka, Fusca, Celta, Gol, etc. Metade dos carros q a Chevrolet vende é feita pela Vauxhall ou Opel. Ainda mais, essa competição não é no Brasil, então parem de falar que vão inscrever fusca, opala, etc. nessa corrida porque essa corrida tem um limite de 20 ou 30 anos para cada carro.

Stephen Lacey cosmetically good is not mechanically good. Many of these cars will have serious structural or mechanical faults which are bodged together enough for this but no more. They would never be road legal again, or would require several times the value of the car in repairs to make good. Either way, some people consider this a better end than simply throwing the car into a crusher, at the very least it provides an eco-friendly source of entertainment.

BC Beerman well under the laws governing UK car write-offs which are now revised and better enforced, you aren't allowed to even salvage parts from what's known as a category A vehicle. The entire car must be destroyed and can never see the road again. Since it's all got to be scrapped there's not much point taking something off if you can't reuse it, providing it's not unsafe to leave it on. I don't know if that's what's happening here but it would be my suspicion. Worth noting that sometimes the real problems with these cars, even cat A ones, aren't always visible externally.
