It may be because I wear workboots everyday in my truck, but I i think a good set of floormats (like Weathertech) are a must. Never saw a huge point to bedliners either. If anything, you use the bed to hell and spray a liner in before you sell/trade it in to cover up dents and scratches.
@BanginGearsGarage

I totally agree about the floor mats. Ford actually threw in their version of a "All Weather " mat when I bought the truck. Front and rear, so I'm good there but totally see your point.

An increase in the volume of air detected by a MAF or MAP sensor will inevitably call for increased fuel delivery to maintain a proper air/fuel ratio. The “increase” in gas mileage can only come from not having a lead foot.
@levistrnad2965
@levistrnad2965 2 жыл бұрын
not having a lead foot doesn't increase efficiency. you simply accelerate faster. and if your speeding (which you shouldn't) then you simply get to your location faster... now if your spinning tires that can indeed reduce efficiency by a microscopic amount in the long run. cant say the same for tires.
@notacreativehandle

@@levistrnad2965 Lead foot = increased fuel consumption = decreased efficiency
@levistrnad2965
@levistrnad2965 2 жыл бұрын
@@notacreativehandle again assuming your not speeding there is no efficiency decrease-increase assuming your in the optimal speed-zone. if your in the last gear and the motors running higher rpm then yes that's less efficient but vehicles are designed to have steady efficiency hence why there's transmissions but again there designed to match speed requirements. what your saying is that it would be using less fuel going 1mph for lets say 5 miles vs 50 for 5 miles. if you look it up a vehicles peak efficiency in total can range from 60-70mph as most vehicles are designed to withstand highway use (in the US).

The tri fold bed cover that I bought.was one of the biggest mistakes. I lost access to a third of the bed from the side with it just being at the standard height. I just gave it away that’s how much I hated it. Rol n lock is a lot more expensive $1,000 and up! But it’s a lot more secure. I see that there is one out there that is a tool box. With the roll top built in. That would be worth checking out. I would also go with the bed rug. Instead of a liner or spray. Your knees will thank you. The one thing that I would not be without for these newer taller trucks. Is a folding step that attaches to the tailgate. And then folds up against the tailgate.? Its removable with just two pins to slide something into the bed. But the plate stays screwed to the gate . Makes getting in and out so much easier. Less than $70.00

i like the video but i don't totally agree on the bed liners... i have a box liner that was put in from when i bought my truck.... and only after only 2 to 4 months... i had took it off to clean under it... and parts of my bed paint was worn right to the metal already...and my brother had his sprayed on and it all looked good till he was walking in the bed of his truck and his foot almost went through... he didn't even know that his box was rusting out from underneath.
@BanginGearsGarage
@BanginGearsGarage 3 жыл бұрын
Both are great points..... I never liked the plastic drop-in liners because water does get under them and if it doesn't fully drain out, it just lays there and if the paint is worn from the liner, could cause the bed to rust. As for your brothers experience..... undercoating from the factory or even an after-market spray would of prevented that or at least dramatically slowed the process way down. The new FORDs are aluminum ...no rust but it does create other oxidation issues is not properly coated.

I wouldn’t fit a K&N Air Filter into any of my vehicles ever again, as they are not as effective as a standard factory air filter element I’ve ran numerous test over a 2 year period on gravel roads and in the outback of Australia. The K&N failed miserably. 🦘🇦🇺🦘

Yeah, K&Ns are garbage... Ohhh Wait... I better remove those on the Sprint Car, Silver Crown Car & Midget, the Baha Race Truck, ARCA Dirt Car & Modified... etc, etc, etc... Yulp, You never see them on roadrace bikes, dirt track motorcycles or a Harley on the street. Apparently someone is not following the directions on cleaning and preping the filter yet assumes their limited experience is the final decision. Nothing like building a $70,000 to $100,000 engine and relying on a paper filter. (Said NO Engine Builder EVER)

Just going by the information sheet that come in the package and the MPG that I have gained on my own vehicle. That being said, how you drive has a lot to do with the gains. I don't have a heavy foot and use the truck as a daily commuter so I'm always in ECO mode on the highway . Is it a miracle product, no but where gas $ is today, every little bit helps.
