I currently live in a Rhythm building and pay 18K for a similar 1 BR. So I can say asking 25K, is well over the odds! But as they say, everything is negotiable in Thailand.

From seeing other videos in Thailand, this condo looks similar..smaller than most apartments in the UK. These condos are similar to budget hotel rooms. The appliances and fittings are of a good standard though, but for the cost a bit expensive. I take it utilities are extra? Plus points, good gym and fantastic view. Pool is lovely and sauna.

If you are looking to show a wide variety of locations and costs, I stayed at the Tempo Grand in Wutthakat back in February -- very reasonable prices and amazing facilities, just about 100 meters from the Wutthakat BTS. I think 1 bedroom units there are about 18K bhat. It has a huge Olympic size swimming pool, a library, and a gym. More out of the way than what most farangs might want, but I enjoyed it. Good luck!

I've lived during my 30 year stay in Thailand in apartments until 2 1/2 years ago when I moved into a house and now we're into our second house. Never go back to apartments. A good place a little further up the BTS (onnut) is KV Mansion in Sukhumvit 81. I lived there for 4 years. Price for a 1 bedroom is about 17K for 60sqm. 25K is probably a little on the high side, probably because of agent commission.

Converts to almost $1,100 a month AUD By contrast I’m paying around $1,600 a month for a three bed house and land with pool in a good suburb in Australia. @@chriscross9505 didn't mean to upset you and challenge your superiority. Didn't realise it was a "I've been here longer than you" competition. Typical of the cranky old expats of Bangkok. I left Bangkok for Phuket and for 25k you can get a house close to the sea. The traffic and smog is a deal breaker. I still keep a condo there just for the investment visa. I hope it's still there. The quality of the condo's built today are garbage. Including this one.

@Сперти за правду Same size but 10 times the price. Chinese investors are driving the prices up. Compared to other cities around Asia it's still a bargain to buy a 5 million BAHT shoe box. I have a 180sqm apartment I paid 10 million for and I've had offers for 22 million just a month ago. Good for me but bad for locals. They get driven out to make way for Chinese money.

Nice tour well done but as for the condo way overpriced for that location, there are much better deals around on sukhumvit sois starting from soi 4 to soi 55 and beyond, closers to BTS. Have rented one on soi 13 (36sqm) for 18.000 all included ,with fast internet and Netflix, but there are even better deals the closer you get to On Nut a specially now with no tourists situation, seen one last week 55 sqm for 15000, 3 min walk to BTS. A friend of mine have negotiated the price down too 165.000 for one year paying in advance for entire year.

Yes, but that is not an average area of Bangkok. To take an average you have to include the wages people earn who live in areas like Klong Toey and in fact all areas. What you are implying is similar to taking the average wage in New York and then asking how people in Manhattan can afford to eat? I rest my case.

My Thai Sister in law owns a Condo just 100 metres from the BTS Victory Monument and it was a fairly upmarket one, but like many even upmarket, why even bother having windows as the aluminium and glass is so cheap that it blocks no noise! The fittings in the room are cheap, her one is bigger than many at 48sqm 1 bedroom, but it's badly let down by cheap fittings like the spa bath tub taps that leak, has a separate shower that is plumbed backwards, just poor quality control. When we stayed there last year even the library was out of service as the ceiling had collapsed or a poor security guard that lost his life when the gate fell over and crushed him! Yet she was offered 10mill baht for it.

If you're looking to buy in Bangkok, you really have to only buy from a developer with a strong reputation.

The rent for a 34 sqm condo is overpriced imo. That's close on $10,000 pa. The condo would only cost $60,000 so you are better off borrowing and buying it.
