Thanks Franko, you're a legend mate, but you were one of the pro-feline supporters who asked for a video, not to say that's a lesser topic, far from it. I just try and show what I think may provoke interest, it's hit and miss.

Pat, I haven’t really been watching many videos for a while, but I’ve noticed you’re video making skills are coming on. I liked the Q and A with Pete half way through. It adds a personal touch and breaks up the info with chat. Then there’s the jazzy 30s music that seem to be a good fit with your content. All the best. Tom

@@BangkokPat In a population of about 10 million, Greece and Austria-Belgium have daily cases of 8,000 to 100 dead and Germany and Britain are a hell of a case. In simple words, whichever country is competitive with China has very serious problems. Thailand is a beautiful country and I especially respect the locals. We have visited it 10 times since 2010 with a final in 2018. Australian Canadians are a big problem.

Back in the day, my father spent at least 95% of his time at the Madrid. He was a Canadian working for the U.S. in the VN war (long story...) and I'm sure he heard about the Madrid from some of his CIA buddies he would have met. Apparently it was a hangout for them. I've only been to Patpong once and that was during the day back in 2010. Of course, I went to the Madrid! He always stayed at the Nana and I'm guessing Nana Plaza wasn't up and going in the late 60's and 70's. That was back when the Nana was a brand new beautiful hotel. I suspect the Madrid isn't coming back. Interesting video, Pat, as usual. Two more weeks for me and I can't wait!! Cheers to future times in Thailand!

Pat, have been checking out your videos & think you're the guy to advise me on a visa question. I am 66 & married. I want to go to Thailand, but not for a month or 3 or 6. I want to stay indefinitely. I cannot meet the requirements for 10 yr. visa. How can I stay in Bangkok for at least a year & possibly renew, repeatedly if possible. What say you?

Education visa would probably be a good idea to look into, plenty of agents on Facebook who will advise on the (simple) requirements....

The majority of 'Tourists' since 1st November are actually people returning to see their Thai partners/family/property, or at least being TH regulars rather than holidaymakers, although I'm sure there are a few brave souls purely holidaying in TH. Whilst all governments are making knee-jerk and/or illogical rules/decisions at the moment, Thailand does seem to be one of the leaders in that field. So very few will risk having their precious holiday time restricted by an odd order from TH, possibly followed by another one on their return to their home country. TH could have avoided the worry on their side but the gov appear to like making inconsistent/hypocritical decisions to prove their authority.

To them, it's foreign bodies through the gates, which is good enough, as after all, isn't every foreigner a tourist?

@@BangkokPat Most of these are indeed tourists in as much as they don't live there, but they won't be doing the tourist stuff like visiting The Grand Palace, so they aren't doing much for the tourist industry, no matter what TAT thinks.

first hotel i stay was on Sukhumuvit Rd. everything is good except the bathroom. The bathroom level is only a lil bit higher from the road, and the hotel provide a tiny curtain to cover the window. Hahahahaha at first i feel a bit awkward when motorist look at me , taking a bath. At the end im just ignore it and assume that they would not recognise me at all. hahahaha

I did visit Saphan Han bridge and that part of the Khlong (old moat) for my Old City Video but I left that part out because the video footage wasn't that great (that was when my old lens first started having auto fucus issues) I went there last week to shoot parts for the latest video but I don't have a proper part about that canal on any video. Only parts. I am due to visit Chainatown area for a video again very soon, maybe I should walk that canal and include all those small bridges. They all have a story! Good idea, thanks!

The more you talk the more I see we're like minded. Can't stand malls & expensive shopping centers. The older I get the more I appreciate the simple things in life. Good food, just wandering around. Lots to explore in Bangkok: great rail system, water taxis, bus, markets. I especially like the night scene. I don't mean bars, although I have no problem with that. I mean the food stalls & non food stalls as well. Guys & gals wandering around in a very friendly & inviting atmosphere. Ppl with their kids. I eat all that up!!!

💿 Fortune Mall Rama 9 🤫 Victory Point used to have a small stage for locals musicians to play but normally busier lunch times. Plus it's where all the buses stop so noise and pollution a factor. Was busy back when all the white vans parked in saxophone pub street. Victory Monument I see many expats living in the area. Center One Mall gets busy + Century The Movie Plaza which I frequent the most. King Power Duty Free Rang Nam Rd has a food court pricey but good and tourists used to be offered ฿400 meal vouchers. Yes lots of hospitals in the area. Ideo Victory Q next to BTS and Rythym Condo's are full of doctors + Students of Mahidol University. They have the best views of Victory Monument. Cheers!
