@@BangkokPat In a population of about 10 million, Greece and Austria-Belgium have daily cases of 8,000 to 100 dead and Germany and Britain are a hell of a case. The majority of 'Tourists' since 1st November are actually people returning to see their Thai partners/family/property, or at least being TH regulars rather than holidaymakers, although I'm sure there are a few brave souls purely holidaying in TH. Whilst all governments are making knee-jerk and/or illogical rules/decisions at the moment, Thailand does seem to be one of the leaders in that field. So very few will risk having their precious holiday time restricted by an odd order from TH, possibly followed by another one on their return to their home country. TH could have avoided the worry on their side but the gov appear to like making inconsistent/hypocritical decisions to prove their authority.

Ah man. I was there Saturday afternoon. I was there today too. I stopped at bkk graff shop at the art and culture center today as well. That trumpeter is actually blind. There's a whole band of blind folks there at night with him. Great video Pat!

Oh I thought the trumpeter was part of that crew. I gave them a tip and grabbed some food near there

It could be years before pre-covid levels of tourism return. I really miss Bangkok and especially Lumpini Park.

Thanks John, sadly you may well be right. Let's keep fingers crossed.

Yes I liked to run the 2,5 kilometer loop in the early evening in Lumpini Park. Many people running and a good mood.

The more you talk the more I see we're like minded. Can't stand malls & expensive shopping centers. The older I get the more I appreciate the simple things in life. Good food, just wandering around. Lots to explore in Bangkok: great rail system, water taxis, bus, markets. I especially like the night scene. I don't mean bars, although I have no problem with that. I mean the food stalls & non food stalls as well. Guys & gals wandering around in a very friendly & inviting atmosphere. Ppl with their kids. I eat all that up!!!

It's not as glossy as all those clickbait youtube videos that tell you Bangkok is back up and running is it?

A while back I had asked you about the Windsor Hotel, but I never heard from you. Well then what's up.

Some comments show in my notifications but not in the feed, and when I click to reply, they vanish. It's a bug in KZbin they haven't fixed yet. Ask me again here and I will answer to the best of my knowledge.

went to all these places..any of them...packed full of people...full of life...when i finished my quarantaine last year and i hit the streets...bkk felt like a patient with way too little blood... a year prior i went to khaosan...i was the only white person in the whole street and one thai guy who fixed a tyle... i saw food kitchens and poverty rising... a feeling like u see a very old friend in ICU...

I just googled the man Geoff, and I'll take it as a compliment, it's the hair I suppose. I gotta keep it longer for a more dramatic project I'm in, but that's still a secret!

Traffic is back to pre-pandemic levels. Went to a restaurant the other night and a bar broke out, almost everyone there was drinking, hardly anyone was eating.

💿 Fortune Mall Rama 9 🤫 Victory Point used to have a small stage for locals musicians to play but normally busier lunch times. Plus it's where all the buses stop so noise and pollution a factor. Was busy back when all the white vans parked in saxophone pub street. Victory Monument I see many expats living in the area. Center One Mall gets busy + Century The Movie Plaza which I frequent the most. King Power Duty Free Rang Nam Rd has a food court pricey but good and tourists used to be offered ฿400 meal vouchers. Yes lots of hospitals in the area. Ideo Victory Q next to BTS and Rythym Condo's are full of doctors + Students of Mahidol University. They have the best views of Victory Monument. Cheers!

Thanks Lindsay, I'm a regular at Eat Am Are on the corner of Rangnam, which is the first branch I believe.
