Engineer and MBA here ! I think Bangladesh should stop all kind of data import from India. 1. The longer the distance , data travels over the OFC the higher is the signal loss 2. The under sea cable travels thousands of kilometres from the termination point thereby increasing signal loss 3. Very High CAPEX : In India, on an average it costs Rs 5-7 lakhs/km to deploy OFC. 4. Economies of Scale : Reliance invested $100bn in building 4G Infrastructure by laying down thousands of kms of Fibre and building MW/UBR capacity . The present Infrastructure is expected to last 40-50 years. With massive data volume, economies of scale kicks in which reduces the cost of Data/GB to around Rs 10-12/ GB. On the same 4G towers with just few additional antennas and a higher power upgradation 5G has been deployed. Thereby reducing data/GB cost . Q 1. In the light of the above 4 points has Bangladesh invested Billions of Dollars to build the NLD route( fibre Infrastructure) ? Q2. The places where fibre can't reach , you need to cover the population by MW/UBR. Have they got enough spectrum and Infrastructure for this ? I think the answer is No. This means if they stop importing data from India then two things will happen 1. Signal loss will go up as explained in my earlier point regarding long distance under sea cable. Download/upload speed will go down 2. Cost of Data/GB will shoot up due to inadequate fibre Infrastructure in the country So, let them stop data import. We already have an unsatiated data need.

This latency works when Bangladesh uses Indian Local server . On the other hand it does not work when Bangladesh use Singapore server, Because when a website server in USA then it came first Singapore then India then Bangladesh which createsmore latency. Do your homework
