India should create a favourable environment for a large garments industry and market with a very favourable tax regime, promotional efforts in the West, lobbies to get long-term contracts from various retail outlets across the globe, and developing a large skilled labour force to take away a significant portion of the garments sector in Bangladesh. This is a good time to invest resources to make that switch over as Bangladesh will remain in the doldrums for a number of years. Regardless of whatever India provides to Bangladesh, that country will not be any friend as the majority of population is inherently against India due to religion!
