We had another oldest mangrove forest named "Chokoria Sundarban" in east south part of Bangladesch. It had been completely destroyed by Shrimp cultivation by farmers with subsidiary of World Bank

The Royal Bengal Tiger of the Sundarbans is a magnificent and fearsome creature, embodying the wild beauty and strength of Bangladesh's natural heritage. Known for its striking beauty and incredible power, this tiger symbolizes not only the wilderness of the Sundarbans but also the resilience of our land. This unique habitat, with its dense mangrove forests and winding rivers, supports the tigers as well as countless other species, creating a delicate and balanced ecosystem. The tiger is not just a national pride but also a symbol of nature’s harmony and strength. As Bangladeshis, our love for the Sundarbans goes beyond admiration; it is a responsibility to preserve and protect this sanctuary. The lush green forests, diverse wildlife, and the Bengal tiger inspire us to maintain a strong commitment to conservation, ensuring that future generations can witness the splendor of this ecosystem. In protecting the Sundarbans and its tigers, we honor our identity and our bond with nature.

Great doco and thank you. I'm currently reading " _Gun Island_ " by Amitav Ghosh, set in the Sundarbans and highlighting the perils that the locals are facing, especially in relation to the rapidly changing environment. Ghosh is a wonderful storyteller and I recommend his book to anyone interested in the Sundarbans, life in India and the forces of change we are all facing. Cheers from Sydney - Dave

There is a difference between those people who fish for their food, whose ancestors have been doing it for long time, and those who are fishing for commercial use and sale. The guy in the video talks about how there are more of the commercial fishermen now

They got cattle and crop. These people sell the fish. The reason why there isn't any fish I'd because of guys like him taking everything out of the river. + the pollution starting to affect those water systems. No bueno

I love watching these documentaries, but I find myself becoming more and more sad as I'm seeing all around the world, just how toxic, human existence is to mother 🌍 We are such selfish creatures.. We need to focus more on healing the land and waters, and less on procreating and industrialization..Seems that for every initiative to achieve that goal, there are triple that amount springing up to undo it..😔

It's the greed of some, who by shrimp farming destroyed the local ecosystem. Thousands have lost their generation old living, land, fresh water and many became homeless. The culprits are also close to the power so there is little hope for better.
