Yes, Susanna Hoffs' vocals are amazing on this song, but the vocal harmonies on this song are just out of this world.

They sort of became trapped with the fact that her voice was the one that the public associated with the band. As for the others, I think it was more about the fact that their contribution was really overlooked. Everyone has an ego.

I just figured out (after 25 years!) what it is about Susanna's eyes that is so alluring. She very rarely looks straight ahead. Her eyes are almost always looking in a different direction then her nose is pointed. This makes her look "vulnerable" and almost shy, and matched with that angelic voice and overall good looks,,,,the whole effect is very sensual. Watch any performance by the Bangles and you will see her do this,,,,I dont know if it is on purpose, because I've seen her do interviews and even though she looks pretty confident, she always seemed a bit overwhelmed by the attention.

Great job from the other 3 Bangles, they harmonize so well and their backing vocals sound strong, not like the muted production in the studio version where you could barely hear them. Debbi looks amazing, I think the bold makeup, platinum hair, and crimped strands was the best look for her.

accidentally stumbled on this video. after a simple greeting from.a coworker : hows your monday then as a joke, i answeref " manic monday".. of course, the other person never heard such a phrase so i showed a video the manic monday by this group. umbeknownst to the worker the song triggered a search for other songs in their album and this song took me back 35 years ago. when i was a young puppy who was deeply "in love" with the girl in junior high school. this song did evoke memories that was seared in my heart. for my inability and ineptness to at least expressed my feeling to this lady. because i was so scared in approaching her. although i was a "beast" in the field whe playing sports but i was literally a scared shit of a puppy at that moment in my life. she reconnected with me after my stroke for 1st time in 30+ years. was so happy to to hear from her for 1st time again. though dated many others and martied few times already. i didnt say anything more bec she's also married and have a family of her own also. i have a good wife and nice family also now. its funny how time passes by and how things would turn out sometimes. you wish sometimes, you can turn back the clock. thanks for reading. almost teared up a few times. didnt know still had those feelings. until heard this song again ( by the time i wrote this listened to this hundred times already! lol). ah those are now just memories! thanks for reading.
