itulah yang sulit, kita bangsa yang besar bukan bangsa yang kecil. jika saudara berkenang mengubah nama kuala lumper menjadi jakarta apa kita mau ? tentu tidak karna kita punya sejarah makanya kita harus tau asal muasal dari mana asal kampung kita berada. jangan karna trend dan jaman kita mau ganti nama senonoh je.

I personally like the name Kerinchi. It has a good sound and punch to it. Bangsar South basically implies that Kerinchi is south to Bangsar. I come to an understanding that Bangsar has a reputation; land of Malay elitist since before The Independence and the founding of KL, while it only means “hut”. Kerinchi on the other hand is associated with low class and carry a ‘shame’ in its name just because it’s a poor people settlement (setinggan). All of this is just in the mind of developer bad advertisement. Their logic is “who would wanna buy a property in ‘Ke-rin-chi’?” (they say in a voice that bears derogatory tone & stigma). Or in another situation, a millenial would answer to someone who asked “where do you live?” with: “I live in Bangsar South” in somewhat a proud voice, whether if he/she wants to conceal his/her Kerinchi origin or; he/she is too snobbish to be associated with Kerinchi status.

tu bangsal lah! bangsar ni gabungan 2 nama bung&sar..aku dah xingat nama penuhnya. xsilap, diorang ni pajak kawasan situ buka estate getah.

Sekarang banyak yg muda muda tak sadar diri ,, tak tau asal semua ni ..tak tau sejarah . Banyak yg belagak , selalu hina orang Indonesia ,, tak tau sejarah sbenar nya

Why not Kampung Kerinchi ? If anyone who first time come to Kg. Kerinchi, I think their reaction like "wow seriously this is kampung???" Dont judges the book by cover. Not need to change the name, Kerinchi is not difficult to pronounce.
