I get the fear of getting new tennants, my old rental was trashed so many times and broken into between tenants and graffitied. It was stressful

"The squatters were occupying a commercial premises, and that's not a crime" _That doesn't even make sense_

I wonder if it's a case of not expecting a law would be needed. Who would want to live in a commercial space? Besides my brother: 'The commute is awesome, and if I need anything, it's downstairs!'

These are all repeat stories. Sometimes there's a new one embedded with the repeats, but not in this episode. We've seen all these before, but they're worth watching again.

Just a suggestion but is not prevention a better strategy then dealing with the unwanted consequences later? If commerical property owners had electricity, water and other utilities cut off if not immediately needed while waiting for planning permission it would make the building a lot less hospitable and less attractive to squatters. If the plan is to renovate or tear down the building to build something else anything that can be useful to squatters should be removed, toilets, sinks and showers in the bathrooms and sinks in kitchen area if there is one, internal doors to rooms (no privacy for any potential squatters). I think spending some money before hand to prevent the place being attractive to squatters is better then spending a lot of money on crazy high legal fees and crippling utility bills from squatters using them later. It is not a be all end all of course but it could help cut down on how many commercial property owners have deal with this.

I agree with what you say

I think this owner thought boarding the place up would make it secure. Once they were in there, he couldn't enter. He couldn't turn off utilities after they were there, with the rights squatters enjoy in the UK. He turned them off as soon as the squatters were out.

She seems nice. She does look a bit like Miss Piggy, though. 😊

If he believes he's getting money, he will be back. Hopefully, everyone moved their vehicles throughout the neighborhood, so he didn't see them and get spooked.

Paul, put a couple of alsatians in there and they will see there isn't room for everybody. Friend of mine did that and they didn't even say goodbye That's how rude they were.

1) Only two weeks rent delay, with a legitimate reason and they had informed the agent is acceptable. That letting agent harassing the family was a vermin; hope he is giving the owner the money collected. However, if they are indeed two months behind on rent, then the landlord should start official legal eviction proceedings. Also, if the couple is having money issues, they shouldn't have more than one child until they get their money situation more stable, as this issue will continue, if they add yet a third child. 2) those squatting on commercial properties are just shameless and immature criminals. This is probably an old video so hop the laws have changed for squatters and crooked letting agents. 3) The woman with the four grown male kids is just obnoxious and sinful. They should all have a job to pay the bills. Left the house absolutely filthy and damaged!! Give someone a break they just keep taking advantage. Do not rent to friends or family.
