Army Logistics with the Truckers | Truckers: Season Two | All documentary

Following the well-known haulage company Eddie Stobart, famous for their iconic green lorries and smartly dressed drivers, as they work around the clock to load-up, drive and deliver their cargo to their deadlines.
This highly popular observational documentary featuring haulage firm Eddie Stobart shows Stobart’s Haulage, Rail and Air divisions. The programme joins the drivers as they take on the challenges of delivering everything from the new pitch at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, to a London Landmark - the famous Piccadilly lights. It's all a bit sensationalist though, with perfectly normal traffic congestion being described as the drivers' "worst nightmare" and standard delivery deadlines made out to be life-or-death cut offs. The series also meets a new breed of drivers, as 20 young lads compete to win a place on the firm’s coveted apprenticeship scheme.

The Belgian depo trucks are left hand drive which wasn't mentioned in video. I thought at first they'd have Belgian plates perhaps but actually have UK plates. Anyone know how this works? Do they have to drive the tractor to the UK once every so often to validate?

Due to cabotage laws they will have to send the trucks back to the UK after a certain amount of time

I enjoy watching the video's and I admire the professionalism of the Stobart company .... BUT .... The drivers who are in these videos take their eyes off the road for quite some time (looking at the camera!). Just waiting for the first televised accident happening on cam because the driver was more interested in looking towards the camera than keeping his eyes on the road!

They're not staring at the camera. They're scanning their entire surroundings, espically their side mirrors. Looking up ahead is the easy part. Checking you are dead centre in lane is a bigger deal. A lot of "four wheeler" (car) drivers get this wrong.

In Europe it's a different story because if you look at the trailer license plate actually the one matching the Lorry that's towing it. Meaning you have to change its license plate to the one that matches the tractor unit. For the United States and Canada trailers have their own license plates for example you can have an Ontario plated PRP Truck 🇨🇦 towing a Pennsylvania registered trailer identifiable as Perma Trailer Plates🇺🇸 or have NYS registered tractor truck tow NJ trailer plate series TAA-10A TZZ-99Z.

@@EpicThe112the UK and Ireland are the only countries that use the same number plate for the unit and trailer. the plate can be removed easily (no screws needed) and the trailer can be used by another truck. i’d imagine the trailer wasn’t insured for european work, or it’s too tall for the route they want to send it on.
