Welcome to the world of Banished! In this city-building strategy game, you control a group of exiled travelers who decide to restart their lives in a new land. They have only the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies from their homeland.
The objective of the game is to keep the population alive and grow it into a successful culture. Options for feeding the people include hunting and gathering, agriculture, trade, and fishing. However, sustainable practices must be considered to survive in the long term.
Colonial Charter:
You're in charge of a crown colony in this megamod for Banished. Your town will have a whole new universe of (loosely) colonial content to use to grow and prosper. Astride your llama, you'll survey fields of all new crops, pastures full of new and exciting animals, and a vast array of new buildings and professions supporting a huge number of new and complex production chains. Everything within the scope of the mod kit has been adjusted and this mod pushes the limits of low memory high performance tuning. Fresh new colonially themed modeling, including some period-accurate buildings like the parish house and weavers, will add spice and variety to your bustling towns. The world of colonial charter is a big place, Governor, but you've got until winter to get things going in your new Colonial Charter.

to be honest I only use dock fishers in lakes now. Having the entire fisher's area in water makes it produce much more fish per worker than even the best shore fisher placement. Whichever kind of fisher you build though, you should always put a small barn or dock storage next to it so the fishers can drop off their catch easily and get back to fishing rather than waste time carrying the food across town.

So very happy to see a new Banished game and you playing it. :) I shall need to go and get this newest version and get back to playing as well. Great stuff! And tea? Well, definitely time to grow that in the game! In CC 1.6 it was made possible for your ordinary labourers to be sent to gather whatever they could from the surrounding area. I can't remember where the button is (can't actually play right now) So you don't need a gatherer right away to get the stuff from the forests and such. Also, don't forget to add a road to the fisheries to make taking the product to town easier and faster (unless you do that before end of this show of course... have to go finish watching but if I don't make notes as you play I forget what I want to say. LOL

Really excited to see you doing Banished! I have been loving the new 1.7 + MegaMod bundle. One thing you might want to consider is having the blacksmith make tools from iron ore until you have enough people to get the smelter and all the fuel refinery going. It's easier to collect iron ore from the ground and turn them into rough tools. One of the most frustrating things I've found is when they run out of tools, then there's a work slow down, then you go into a starvation spiral.

Love your more realistic plan...settlers start with very little, but as resources and knowledge grows, the dwellings evolve from settlements eventually into market towns and even industrial cities. Youve earned a new sub ;) looking forward to this series xx

This is a really good game. With the 2 mods enabled it makes it a GREAT game, imo. I'll be hooked on this series and likely watch while I play around on my city also. Biffa: Note that MOST original buildings can be upgraded once you have lumber, roof tile, and brick production. Because of this I use a lot of the classic storage buildings and upgrade them later.

You asked for suggestions for what we would like to see and here is my input. I would like to see more using of the MegaMod different buildings. Like those from Red Ketchup, and some of the ones from the Black Liquid section on the Colonial housing two and three stories and the ones with the different colored roofs. Also I would like to see some of the different road styles, like sandstones, and marble or brick. Trying something different than the stone and dirt roads is essential to what these new mods have to offer and show off.

You should have done rice planters. With rice in the barn you could have made the most effecient grain producer in MegaMod. Rice Planters are awesome. Also, fishing is not as good as Tide Pool Scavengers. At max, on a coast, scavengers make slightly more food with a better mix of foods and a small chance of getting pearls.

Biffa: Strategy, Survival & Indie Games as always the cc production chains are insane. best advice I've got is that the upgrade buttons for some of the buildings are really inconspicuous such as ones for the ds storage buildings. or they're in a weird spot in the window so just keep an eye out.

You don't need to add both now as Mega Mod inc's the latest CC :-)

old cc it's included right :) new one ( CC 1.7.1) it's a separate mod with tons of changes so for now better to stick with it

You can add both without problem. Just make sure the standalone CC (1.7.1) is first / on top in the mod list. Them both turning red just means there's content with the same name in both mods - of course, because they both contain a version of CC - and the game will only use the content from the mod higher in the list for where there are 2 versions. It will still use the other Megamod mods, that are not in the standalone CC alongside, just "updating" the CC content, so to speak. :)

Problem is, in the mod list, both are red which means they are not compatible with each other.

Not quite true in this case. The way the Banished mod list works, with his mod setup as seen here, it only indicates that the mod placed higher in the list overwrites features from the one placed lower in the list. Plain and simple: his newer, standalone version of CC overwrites / replaces the outdated alpha of CC and its content in the Megamod. The red is basically just a "beware, some stuff from the second mod won't work, because there's identical stuff in the first mod and I'll use that". Which - again in this case - is just fine as the first mod is the newer version anyway.
