I totally understand the feeling. Banjo and Kazooie came out on my 5th birthday, and I got it that day as a present. It was my first game I have a lot of memories with. I didn't 100% it or anything, but it was one of the first games I remember being able to beat on my own. It's a crime what Rare hasn't done with Banjo and Kazooie over the last 20 years.

Could also have to do with there suddenly being more fast paced action on the screen and more color changes, along with more audience movement to keep track of, but I like to think it's specifically the shrill cries of BAAANJOOOOOO that is bogging down the fps.
