For anyone having trouble with the Canary race: I learned this cool trick from my friend when I was younger that absolutely obliterates these spam challenges. Pinch your thumb and index finger together like you are holding a guitar pick, and rapidly strum up and down over the button as fast as you can. The act of hitting the button on the way up and way down essentially doubles your button input over just spamming it with one finger. If you have long nails or feel uncomfortable doing that, you can grab a small object (I use a tube of chapstick) and do the same motion over the button.

I just use two of my pointer fingers and rapidly tap the X button fast and it helps that way too

8:12-8:20 _Mumbo best shaman in all game, also most smartest shaman in all game. Mumbo know there no lives in game, so Mumbo can fall down and return fast to skull entrance, inside bear and bird still wait to become them again. Mumbo genius, should give Nobel to Mumbo._

Fun fact: in the original N64 version of this game, the pause menu was bugged inside the Cheese Wedge. It either ran ridiculously fast or slow. Since all the framerate issues were fixed in this release, I'm guessing this bug was fixed, too. And yeah, it looks to me like Canary Mary was toned down in this version, too. Imagine that, the guys behind Battletoads and all those shitty levels in Donkey Kong Country 3 with "Hot Pursuit" as their theme (and don't get me started on Rocket Rush...) actually admitting they made something too hard! D:

A simple way is to hit the button as quickly as possible, during the second race it is longer so press the pause Button to get your breath and do this as many times as you wish then it makes it easier to finish. Hope this helps

Canary Mary's Rematch: Outside Wumba's Wigwam is a small mechanical mouse, where a familiar bird Banjo and Kazooie know, Canary Mary is waiting for a rematch. She's a lot faster than when she was in Glitter Gulch Mine, which is not that helpful to Banjo and Kazooie. The trick is to stay on her tail, as she only speeds up dramatically when you are in too close to her. So wait it out, plod along then just blitz the button and pass her on the last stretch, good luck! this is how he did it didjnt even care to tell.

You must've used a Turbo Button or some unconventional way to beat Canary Mary. I remember beating her once as a kid by matching her speed and turning it on at the end, but that was incredibly difficult. I didn't even try to beat her twice to get the cheato page. It really is unnecessary how hard she is to beat. They could've made her a bit easier to beat.

+Zapachu1000 I think if you fail a few times in a row it gets easier so if I were you, I'd fail badly by falling way behind a few times and then try it. It worked for me. That thing seems near impossible on the first try.

The second canary race is not physically possible with a normal Xbox series s controller. Had over 200 attempts following the birds tail the whole time until the end and at the end the second I go a centimetre in front of him he just triples in speed and always wins. I’ve given up lmao don’t wanna break my x button.
