I got selected in UIIC as Assistant. But they posted me in area which was 500 km away from my home and nearest railway station was 40 km away with bare minimum public transportation. I could not join as I had to take care of my father. couldnt take him to backward area in old age. :(

Last year I applied from Gujarat, I cleared pre and mains. I appeared for LPT and DV. LPT is very stringent. First they will dictate some passage in local language and you have to write along. And it was very fast. Next reading test, they will tell you read a passage from a magazine. And it was very difficult passage. Then speaking test, they will tell you some random topic and you have to give extempore on that. I was given Bhagat Singh, Dwarka , and Holi. I probably failed in LPT. Those who have cleared mains exam, their marksheet were not published. Looking at names of first and second list of final selected candidates they only selected local candidates. I probably scored 40 marks more than cutoff for my category.
