I flew through Las Vegas with Allegiant a day before you took this flight. I was surprised by how many spirit planes were seemingly operating fine given the airline's situation.

When I took the train from CU they always announced several times the destination of the next arriving Amtrak train. On the platform holding area they would again announce the destination of the arriving train. Awesome landing in NYC

6:23 It was a slower turn because sometimes the pilot does not follow the taxiway line (which shortens the length because the plane is moving forward) especially when doing a departure not at the threshold of the runway but rather an “intersection departure” the slower turn was due to the pilots discretion of aligning the plane without the taxi way lines. Great video though! Always enjoy the content. Happy new year!

Spirit ground crew employee here! The writings been on the wall for a while now. Supposedly they haven’t turned a profit in a while, (I think the last year they did was around 2018, a few years before I started working with them.) The airlines also has had trouble paying for fueling at certain stations from what I’ve heard. The company outsources the majority of its above wing and below wing teams outside of Fort Lauderdale, having downgraded more and more stations of having mainline ground crews as well as maintenance teams each year. While I myself haven’t flown the airline before, from my experience it isn’t that bad to fly as long as you read the fine print when booking. (Most of the complaints are related to the airlines baggage policies). It’s a shame the merger with both Jet Blue, as well as Frontier didn’t end up happening, but I’m hoping the airlines stays alive as it’s always nice having direct flights in and out of smaller airports like mine as opposed to almost always having a layover with one of the big 3.

5:44 I probably take it that the use of power banks are not permitted on Spirit Airlines

Hmmm maybe I can explain why the slow turn I’m assuming that they didn’t add more thrust to engine 2 but instead did it the normal way becuase most pilots add more thrust to engine 1 or engine 2 depending which way their turning (please correct me if I’m wrong)

i've seen a lot of misinformation spread around online regarding spirit filing for bankruptcy protection. spirit filing for bankruptcy protection kind of surprised me at first as they're probably the biggest budget airline in the u.s. even for them not having the best reputation, i hope they can start getting back up from bankruptcy protection. i flew them a few times and they really weren't as bad as people say.

They have an excellent crew indeed. Sucks they get a bad rep. The large airlines hog the US terminals at the airports so limits the smaller competition unfortunately.

7000 series on the Blue Line now becoming much more common. I betcha those 2600s will be completely gone by the end of 2026. Very similar experience to the Washington Metro’s 7000s as they are made by the same manufacturer

Im really wondering if Spirit is gonna make it through the bankruptcy. I know other airlines have, but Spirit doesn't have the best of reputation....
