dont believe every google lyrics site nor thier album catalogs... in an interview which was scrubbed from the net and cant be found any more... she says "you fool" but also says "you hoOooe". it was confirmed in various underground interviews years prior to her booming success. artists such as Florence and the machine, amongst many others even mainstream artists whos been utilizing it longer and more extensively use these techniques. what they do is record a word and overlap to make it sound like multiple words. its a micro genre of "WitchHouse", some label it "hauntedSoul", witchhouse is more hiphopish.. anyway, as a person who sat and watched many songs made in person by "purity ring, niki and the dove" and many others who choose to become famous others rejected the fame, its a technique used for 50 years, nowadays/years even harder and more extensively. Something like "backwardmasking"

Oh gawd the feels.. I love the way she sings this with so much sensitivity in her voice. The instrumental is almost haunting and yet i can bounce to it, one of my favorite songs by her. I don't really get how people compare this to Aaliyah though.. But if she was still alive i would definitely want to hear her rendition of this song.

I think you kinda answered you own question, it's not so much that their musical styles sound the same, it's the fact that they both had a certain type of inflection in their voices that had a certain feeling that could be felt by the listener. Especially the last part of the song. Very reminiscent of how aaliyah sang
