lol...yeah we pulled a LOT of our cash out of the bank and got it into more physical metals...mostly silver and platinum since Plat is pretty decent price the last while. Better than leaving it in the bank to vaporize, lol

You still need to keep some cash at home for bills In case a bank goes under, or cancels your account. We need to learn a lesson from what happened in Greece some years ago. You can’t put all your money in precious metals. You also need to eat & pay your mortgage, etc.

It is always very smart to hold physical good and silver but it is important to know that when banks fail the regulator (Federal Reserve) coordinates an acquisition of the bank operating subsidiary which prevents any loss of deposits. SVB was acquired by JPM for example and no deposits were lost. While it isn’t an absolute I can’t think of any time where a depositor lost their money.

To jmslobo-bank depositors may not have lost money but the taxpayer did-JP Morgan hand picked the assets of the bank they were "taking on ' ' and the fed picked up all the bad sooner or later we will pay in dollar dilution or bond problems

Silicon Valley Bank took huge losses selling off its bonds, and more investors panicked and pulled out their money. Even though Silicon Valley Bank made a bunch of very specific mistakes, people all over the country got scared and started yanking money out of smaller banks.

CASH is King. When any government wants you to go totally digital with your money, tell them NO! Because that’s a power play on their end. If I hold cash in my hand, it’s way more difficult for anyone to take it. Millionaires have said it- “ If you don’t own the physical Item, you don’t own it.” Money is no exception here.

The BTF i thought was just a loan and that it's ending in a couple of months. They'll have to pay it back

It was basically a loan with a lower cost. It's rumored to be ending in part because some of the banks realized they could borrow from the BTFP and buy treasuries and arbitrage it (good reason to end it). The broader issue is that the banks are sitting on $650 billion in paper losses. The BTFP provided liquidity so those losses wouldn't have to be realized. We're not saying it's a guarantee, but losing the liquidity provided by the BTFP creates conditions where another bank run could occur in 2024.
