EXACTLY. Military is mission critical, zero failure environment. Fiber optic is way too fragile, cooper corrodes. The fact that we NEVER hear of military use of silver is a dead giveaway.

We’ve seen similar things with oil and the end result was that we were just not measuring all the supply on the market. Maybe the deficit is real and has had limited effect because above ground stockpiles (including stackers) are massive, increased demand should be supportive of price.

Military is using more silver than we know. Wouldn't invest or not invest based upon speculative military consumption. Would buy silver as part of a diversified portfolio allowing silver to fill a non-correlated segment ~5% of portfolio value.

I have a hard time believing that all of the Silver being used by the military is captured in publicly available numbers, but I also don't think it really matters at all. Clearly, the military requires Silver for a variety of reasons, and those reasons are becoming more pronounced by the month. With advancing technology, Silver tends to see more use. Clearly, military technology has been and is on the advance. With actual war and combat usage, clearly Silver will need to be procured to keep up with demand and replace existing stocks of weapons that have been expended from older stockpiles. From talking to people over the years who are the boots on the ground when it comes to refiners, local coin shops, antique dealers, etc... It's becoming VERY VERY clear to me that we have almost NO IDEA how much Silver is actually out there and can show up at the right price. This has been heard in the United States and even in places like Europe. If and when a genuine Silver shortage shows up, which I don't think it has, the fact of Silver's shortage will show up in the price in a dramatic way. This hasn't really happened to any significant degree, so I remain unconcerned. I also don't buy on pumper stories about Silver or Gold. The fact is that Silver and Gold are money by nature, with Gold having the higher wealth storage density capacity. As long as that's a fact, and it always will be, at least while were here on earth in our current form, that's really all that I need to know. Everything else is pretty much just white noise in the background.

The military and nasa do not use silver oxide batteries. Silver oxide is mainly used in watches type batteries that are not rechargeable. Silver zinc batteries are what the military and nasa use. Silver zinc batteries are rechargeable, have a long life, and are reliable. Silver zinc can be charged quickly and pose no storage risks like, say, lithium ion. The tomahawk cruise missile is stowed at the ready using silver zinc batteries. Right before launch, the missile batteries are charged, and target information is downloaded into the computer of the missile. Wouldn't make any sense to use cheap Chinese batteries, now would it.

What about the HUNT Brothers and their families' involvement in flooding the market with their stores of silver. They own Billions of Ounces, and whenever the spot price of silver takes off, it's quelled by their flooding the markets and selling HIGH and then buying even more Ag again with those profits at a lower price. 10-15 ounces is the estimate considered more credible. We're probably talking a couple hundred thousand ounces tops in all of the tomahawks ever built and/or fired. That's a trivial percentage of the 822 million ounces mined each year.

Gold is great at sniffing out things to come in the future. 2019 to 2020 gold went from 1200 to 2000. This year, we're watching it go from 2000 to 2600+, beating stock market returns. Overall to date, from 2019 to now, gold is up 116%, while silver is up 106% in the same timeframe.

The US government used a massive amount of silver during WW II to supply super magnets for the Manhattan Project that refined uranium to make the first atomic bombs. I'm sure the scientists use other methods for refining uranium now that do not require silver. When the Manhattan Project ended the US government had several hundred million ounces of silver that it eventually dumped back on the market or used for coinage by the US Treasury. So it would be wrong to assume the US uses the same amount or more silver now than it did during WW II.

Above ground inventories of silver ARE possible to estimate - according to CPM Group above ground inventories amount to approx. 6 Billion ounces. If you want 1 million ounces they can procure you with that within a week!!! Furthermore, how is a silver deficit registered? Has there been producers of materials/products crying out that they couldn't locate/buy silver for their purposes? NO! So maybe this video is somewhat biased towards wanting people to hoard more silver...

@@apmex The estimates of how much silver is used in things like Tomahawk missiles is grossly inflated, almost certainly by people hoping to drive silver prices up. The most credible estimates of the silver content of those missiles is nowhere near the 500 ounce figured thrown about by these speculators. It's 15 ounces on the high side and maybe as little as 10. We're looking at maybe 33,000 ounces lost in all of the tomahawks fired over the past 40 years or so since they came online. Maybe another 170,000 odd ounces in all of the existing missile stockpiles between us and our allies. Not the millions of ounces these wild estimate suggest. Even if we accepted the absurdly high estimates that put total tomahawk silver use as high as 7 million ounces, over a 40-year procurement, that' a very trivial portion of the world silver production which stands at 822 million ounces per years with another 180 million or so recycled each year.
