As the April 24th Shai Protest is fully underway the Protesting Shai have gone on the offensive to get their point made in Black Desert Online. From Bashing those who don't care for the changes, or those who don't care about Mob Grinding! Things are getting heated between Shai players but will this get Pearl Abyss looking at the Shai Protest for Black Desert?

Only Day 2 and apparently I was shunned from the Shai Protest. Oh well, be careful out there! This protest is heating up and the Shai are out for justice! I have notice that such Shai are in their own bubble, that is a shame cus I count them as friends. (but i am EU) long winded post. But if they have looked at my standing on shai, they should understand why i'm not joining such protests. I mix with pve, pvp, red, blue musical and lifeskiller.. shai is doing great! considering the state of play. and I state so in videos too... so I guess my 'friends' wont beasking me for input this time... explains the silence. If anything, these protests they decided to not even give me a personal head up on are getting in the ways of real feedback processes... and now make us all look like a joke, but what do I know? ...and they don't know what they want! example; forward guard on shais 1-2-3 that they said we cant ever get; i was against it, then i though my okay.... so push of it, then put out a video saying 'it's times jea' (showing 1,2,3 with protections) and a week letter, bam... (video short still there :P) and what happens, no one happy cus it loses stiffen.. yeah, they wanted a pvp kill bot. Not Shais place.

Very well said, I feel like that whole protest or anything would've been better if idk all sides were considered and not just it was this and everyone isban enemy or hates the class lol but at least we got a costume Oh and I can't believe I'm NOT subbed to you... yet

As a Shai trade skiller I agree with you. In fact every class has protested their specific class nerf and changes. Fact is this is the game and these are the challenges we are presented with regardless of which class you play. Make your suggestions. Make your complaints. Then play or don’t play. Things change and in the long run it’s usually for the better. Social media politics are pointless at best and damaging at worst

All I am hearing is people are mad they can't play into their weird loli bruiser fetish. If they want that so much, they should go play FFXIV. I'm actually going to be rolling a shai on my next season run BECAUSE I dislike the combat side of things so much, and because these sad little protests made me realize Shai is even in option. By the way, protests in games are unactionable. All the people in charge sees is "wow, our game is real popular today!" Just ask Runescape players how much protests moved the needle... Not playing is the only way a protest might work.

Not a shai guy but i like your take. Shais need a reevaluation of what makes them truly unique. As it stands right now the protest just sounds like such a joke. Take the class back to its roots i say. Which is lifeskills. Not 1v1ing a succ ninja on the flex team in nodewar/siege. Theres actually quite a few ideas that come to mind from other games that had fairly unique class designs such as entertainer from SWG. Mabye shais could provide unique long term buffs to players via the food or alchemical elixirs they made that no other class had access to idk. But reworking her to be some super fast assassin loli with a boomerang just sounds so wrong for the class

I've always thought that every class in any game should be viable at PvE and PvP. Maybe not top of the meta, but definitely viable and playable. I don't support her being only viable at lifeskilling.

It's a good thing you didn't join anyway, Teddy. If you can't even express your humble opinion because it offends the mob, then it's just a hate rant anyway and not worth your time. Just imagine for a hot minute if Shai actually got such huge buffs that it becomes the prime PVE Grinder, and now everyone rerolls a Shai. That would be hilarious, in all fairness. Now, 2 things will happen if there WOULD be a change. Either Shai will excel at it, or she'd still underperform compared to other classes. That's simply how it goes. It's senseless to try to even equalize that part. Trivial even, when there's so many better things to fix on a macro scale. At the end of the day, people always like to min-max things down to the T. Most people would argue a Musa is the best for gathering. Corsair would be best for Sailing/Bartering. Certain classes are best for grinding. So right out the gate, there is no equality here. If Shai needs to perform better at everything else, then so should every other class that's remotely lacking in any field. Having the one character that you want to do it all on is fine and all. But to have that somehow balanced vs the 20 odd other classes you're up against is impossible. The Shai's initial design is that of a relaxed support role that doesn't focus on fighting with some lifeskill utility on the side. She still has this and that's the whole point. If anything she'd lose even more uniqueness if Shai was brought up to everyone else's level in that regard. Oh well, let's see their faces if/when they get their buffs, and realize it's still not enough. Shai protest 2 Electric Boogaloo!

Going to note. Pushing overall change like life skill is need or pve/pvp. Does not matter what over all say you should voice your view of change if you like it or not. Even for life skills. I was playing shai since she came out, Big note how i want is them to pick a lane with shai then this odd spot that everyone is pulling it. either give us better life skill or support not half ass us. The people at PA laughed at the class live on their stream why i quiet BDO.

True on everything except one thing, it only matters IF you're another class OTHER THAN the Shai. Like you said they themselves laughed at the class they regret making. At this point, it doesn't matter what direction it goes. I can imagine Pearl thinking something has to be sacrificed. It'll never be what anyone hopes for

@@TeddyTwighlite Nope will never be what we want end of the day just enough that makes people happy/enough that make people think the class is worth wild in 2024. Why I enjoy EvE online because everything stays in its lane in its own regard. I Posted in that forum post as I use to stream BDO a lot till I just felt like shit, playing shai I was harassed by non shais all the time. People really just need shai to have a lane of PVE/PVP or Lifeskill/Support not this just be god at one thing. I even said ages ago I would play shai still if they made it 100% lifeskill Just give us more then 5% exp for 2 life skills.

Shai has always been used as eye-candy for promotions and posters etc and disregarded in detailed careful improvements. However... any improvement is an improvement, pve is a huge part ofc. Give Shai the S-block, smooth out the animations, less jerky hopping like she has a congenital hip issues, a bit more defense, and simplify buffing key sequence even further, cut out unnecessary animations with the weapon swaps and arm movements, its a waste of time... That -20% dmg nerf a while ago was a disaster move, uncalled for. Anyway.

Absolutely correct, "pve is a huge part" part. not the whole part or majority lol yeah when you say it out loud. The Shai is ALWAYS used only for Promo's but has been left unloved for years now on EVERY front lol maybe one day PA might look at her for more than just a poster or a YT video lol

Take this with a grain salt... I've only been playing The Game for 2 weeks. I've owned it for 5 years. But I was under the impression that every job had its strength and weaknesses. That was something that made me want to pick the game up finally on top of all of the new pve/quality of life changes. But isn't the whole point to play the job that best suits What you like to do if that job doesn't work with what you like to do, then don't play it. Or is this some kind of fetish people have with playing short cute races 😅 And just wanna do everything on that class. I don't know, i'm not in the know.. I'm not part of the larger community of this game. I'm just a newbie putting his Opinion in.

Its mainly about people wanting to be on par with the other classes instead of being better at this and weaker at that but it only implies to certain PVE and PVP related things not the whole issue. Don't really know or really care about it tbh since its NOT MY FIGHT and hasn't been. I'll stick to where I belong lol baking bread and playing with rocks. We'll to be honest we chose to start it on the 24th because we lost our life skills. It's not really talked about because I have 0 exp and 0 LS shais speak up. Just some fun lore tho. Hope it helps, and you're welcome to make a post if you so choose but I get the feeling of pointlessness, that is the same reason most the Shais on my friends list are offline now. As long as you have fun tho, you don't really have to get involved if you don't feel it necessary but if you do want change I encourage you to voice it even if it is screaming into the dark and endless void.

Yeap, that's why they don't care about the class, dumb way to think, "your class is nerfed, you can't grind, do support at pvp, then reroll", "your class is doing shit, even if you like it, reroll, or play another game" I read a comment like that (not exactly), that's how games lose players, and after eva/dr changes now the class is even more dead, that's why we don't see anymore Shai as we used to. Honestly anyone have its own opinion, but I disagree with that, PA announced Shai as a support, lifeskiller, rp class that can dance play instruments and such, but now it's just for lifeskill, and somehow other classes does it better, so why do I have a shai? for gathering?! I can easily make another class for it, so the class is useless right now, and guilds are begging to us to go there buff them because that's the only thing we can do. But oh well, I don't know what they did in this protest exactly because I am not NA or EU, but some opinions here and there are just nonsense, the main post of the forum does count on what shai needs to be a class and some things might not have to be there for a rework, but not getting any rework on it is the same as deleting the class sincerely, because right now Shai is useless, and as a 66 Shai I rerolled to Wusa because this class is useless for everything even after this chances of lifeskil levels for family, instruments and dance in the pearl shop.

wtf Shais are protesting lol I never thought id see the day that people are protesting about shai. I mean Shai was introduced with the intention of being a lifeskiller. Her whole edge was she came with professional gathering and something else i dont remember what else. I think people are mad because the money in lifeskilling has been getting nerfed to the ground over the years and now its imperative you grind for some decent silver. I can also see people being mad at the fact that they just made another indirect nerf to shai bc everyone is sharing lifeskills now. It doesnt really hurt those WITH a shai but that little edge she had with her being professional in gathering is chopped down. But i do agree the issue is much more widespread than just her pve its the fact that lifeskilling has been nerfed so heavily imo. But again, this is coming from someone whos played a long time but doesnt really play shai all that much. But people shouldnt make you feel guilty for not going to the protest because im sure youve played for a looong time so you know PA isnt going to change anything lol

Honestly Shai wasn't only for lifeskill, was for also role-playing, PVE and supporting class, honestly calling out because you didn't got here cause you have own opinion is sad, but yet the class need rework, after all the changes PA did to the game, and still forget about the "class" shai, so let it throw in the past like it did with some old classes in the past, until they rework all the class again so the old classes could get so good as the new ones, shai right now is just a class that can't even grind solo, or even do a good support at pvp, it doesn't needs to go kill people or 1v1 a ninja, but yet does it's role as a supporting class at least at pvp...
