This is a machine I've never seen before. The Siemens name exists on heavier products in the USA, but I don't think they label vacuums here. On another note, I don't understand the dislikes. I've been watching Roger's videos for as long as I've known about them and simply cannot think of a more polite, kind KZbinr, not to mention that the videos are of professional quality. I definitely appreciate this channel!

I have this one. But mine is metallic blue bosch 2200 volt. Had it for 7 years and the power brush just gave up. It's totally clogged up and it's impossible to take apart and clean it. And now I'm not able to buy an new power nozzle. The other nozzle is horrible on rugs and hard wood. It's so strong it sucks to the floor and is hard to vac with. Sad cause I really loved this vaccum.

My grandma bought her last vacuum about 15 years or so back from the german catalogue shop Quelle, might have been 2 years or so before they closed down. It's a red Privileg branded machine, manual speed selector, 2200W, came with a turbine head and parquet head. Never put much thought to it until now, but always assumed it was ELux. Nope, it's basicly a step down version from this. Sliding speed selector where the display would be, no power head, same crappy multitool (honestly, almost the worst one I know). Her turbine head wore out after maybe 10 or so years, then she first moved to the parquet and then to just the combi nozzle. Don't think we ever changed the HEPA filter...

This Wesselwerk power nozzle has really extremely soft bristles. I even use it on oriental silk rugs. This means, however, that is is largely ineffective on other than the lowest pile carpets. I have seen this power brush in the US but forget it on the toe-grabbingly plush wall-to-wall carpets one can find there. I hope you can sort out the problem with the cord rewind, Roger.

Awesome video my good man! Typical German luxury tweak fail re-the powered cord rewind! Having said this, if German engineering can come up with a auto adjust mode on a vacuum where it senses that I am stepping forward or stepping back at auto adjust the cord accordingly AKA: absolutely no cord management whilst vacuuming! Well Roger, one can only dream! Peace out brother cheers… Keith
@ibaisaic5 жыл бұрын
Electrolux and Miele did produce vacuums with an auto reverse rewind that allowed the cord to come out of the cleaner as you moved away from the wall socket and retracted it as you moved closer. I never used that function though as it kept the cord taught all the time and was a tripping hazard.
@DrummingMan15 жыл бұрын
ibaisaic interesting! Perhaps that is why that technology is not popular today? Maybe one day, you can show us a vacuum with said technology thanks for the reply cheers… Keith

Hi Roger, great video. That's my type of vacuum, lots of punch and electronic everything with the power head. It's funny in the States and Australia you see more of the high end machines but here in Europe people dont seem to want them or even know that they exist as the shops mostly only have the cheep stuff (or at least where I am on the continent). What gives?? That wattage thing is silly, it should have been on cleaning efficiency and energy/time used to clean specific area. For example all units designed for cleaning carpet should have a power/turbo head which in my opinion reduces energy usage by a lot by actually taking less time to clean to the same standard. The recent Hover Senior video clearly shows that.

Hi Deb I'm an Australian living in Europe: thats true but the prices are just as high here if not higher, higher taxes and lower pay = less disposable income. The Miele I have had for years now was AU$1500 top of the line model with full remote handle and the big power head. This type of machine is still on offer in the States but not in here. I'm done with Europe and will be moving back to Australia soon - best country in the world.

Does have bagged vacuum any advantage over baggless?
@MarcelloTheBandit5 жыл бұрын
If you have an allergy to ANYTHING, a bagless vacuum will aggravate it any time you empty it. Not sealed? then every time you use it. Bagged? only the paper or "Allergen Filtration" or "Micro-Filtration" or even some cheap hepa bags will give you problems; the chinese hepa bags less so than the others. Best option is synthetic or fleece-like bags. Unless it's a no-name bag, it shouldn't give you any problems. Tried Kenmore, Panasonic, ZVac, Cirrus, Hoover, and Riccar HEPA bags and only the ZVac ones left any dust in my Kenmore upright from 2003 with a refurbished motor. Friend's "Sealed HEPA" Shark Navigator? I have to wear a dust mask. Sealing hack: Gorilla 3 inch wide packing tape.
@spencerwilton58315 жыл бұрын
Jeff In Chicago Emptying in the toilet is a bad idea for several reasons. Hair and fibres could snag on hidden protrusions within pipes and eventually clog. But more importantly, vacuum waste contains an awful lot of microplastics, from the synthetic fibres found in many carpets and those shed from clothing etc which form household dust. These micro plastics are not captured by sewage treatment plants and end up in whichever river or ocean your local sewage treatment plant discharges into. Bin your vacuum waste, don't flush it!

It most likely is something minor. My Electrolux UltraSilencer’s cord reel jammed. I was reluctant to attempt a repair until I had another canister downstairs so I bought a Miele. When I opened the Electrolux I untangled a piece of plastic that moved and put it back into place and now I have two canisters on the first floor.

USA limits portable vacuums cleaners to 1500 watts because of safety reasons due to 120 volts. The 900 watt vacuum limit is frivolous and unnecessary. EU should’ve still allowed powerful vacuums and focus on incentivizing electric cars instead. 900 watt vacuums will never be as powerful as 2200 watt vacuums or even US 1500 watt vacuums,
@TL.... Жыл бұрын
would this siemens 2000 watt vacuum work in USA/canada 120 volts wall sockets with an adapter ? any change of blowing a fuse ?
@LlyleHunter5 жыл бұрын
I hope that if you do Brexit you’ll allow up to 1200 watts. That’s not outlandish. It’s about where ours top out. At one time they marketed a few 1400 watt machines but no one thought them necessary. I couldn’t believe that Europe had 2200 watt machines. There’s a point where it becomes a diminished gain.
@HouseOfVacuums5 жыл бұрын
2000 watts sounds like a lot, but the UK is also 230V. So wattage is always higher. The direct comparison to American motors would be amperage. 2000w/230v=~9 amps. So not outrageous in terms of power draw compared to US machines.
@spencerwilton58315 жыл бұрын
House Of Vacuums perhaps you don't remember the 3000 watt machines marketed in those mail order catalogues that come with the weekend papers? They were sold as the most powerful available, but essentially they were very noisy fan heaters!
