I've gone back and watched this over and over. Never in my wildest imagination would I have attacked a force like that, UPHILL, OUTNUMBERED. So badass. Your tactical skill and understanding is second to none.

Fortune favors the bold. Sometimes I try these kind of aggressive moves and they fail. It's good to remember I don't show EVERY battle we fight. Sometimes we try something very hard and lose. Thank you for the very kind words though.

Watched your videos for a while and something clicked recently in my campaign. Now I am smashing armies that outnumber me on a regular basis. Changes the grand strategy too when, as a commander, you can reliably obliterate bigger armies. Appreciate you doing all this with no $ motive just love of the game.

Could you turn the background music down a bit? Sometimes I have a hard time following what you're saying with so much stuff going on at the same time, but other than that, great videos! I learned a lot and I'm already seeing results in my campaign! Also they give me even more motivation to study real military history!

Yes sir will do! This was one of my first narrations with my new mic and the mic though it's a better quality mic and a clear sound seems to have less volume output. The next handful of videos of the same series will have a higher narrated voice and quieter background sounds. Thank you for your feedback brother!

It's simply incredible how casually you are attacking forces three times your size and gutting them still. I used to be afraid of enemy forces 50% larger than mine but your guides and content is making me rethink how I play the entire game. I'm sure it will take a lot of practice but with your help, Calradia is doomed to fall to my small Kingdom! Thanks for your BADASS content bro.

Steady progress of improvement, brother. First you start grasping the game, then applying tactics, lose battles, learn what you did wrong, come back smarter next time. Continued growth is exponential if you so desire it! You're welcome for the help, I'm VERY honored to teach!

Came back for this gem once a while, you inspired me to take on harder challenges in bannerlord but I sometimes forgot my shock unit lol. However, since I start using 8 unit in combat, I enjoy the game a lot more because of the "screen of green" haha. Just in love with the peekaboo ridge when I fought around Danustica

An arbitrary rule I sometimes impose on myself is that if I play at 50% damage taken then when I am at 50% health I don't allow myself to wade on into the enemy and wreck face. Not a hard rule but something I sometimes consider.
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions8 ай бұрын
I actually have a pretty wide disparity in how I run player damage. Sometimes I have no choice but to run at 25% player damage for example a recent battle was against Believe it or not 7,000 plus enemies and I knew I wasn't going to survive late into the battle without running at greatly reduced player damage even being more passive. This is an older video at this stage I probably thought this battle 3 months ago most of my battles in videos coming up are at normal player damage but I do like your suggested advice for when to run at 50%. I'll consider that thanks!

Can you make a video showing how you put your troops in formation squads I play on console is very difficult to put certain troops in different lines
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions8 ай бұрын
I made a series called intermediate tactics and it's a playlist of eight videos that show basic formations of troops gradually expanding to more complex formations and all eight army groups used in the same battle. Check out those videos and if that doesn't handle your needs let me know
@greenwoodorganics46814 ай бұрын
This was awesome however you did kill over 300 yourself , I wonder if you would've commanded / acted differently if you didn't have 50% damage reduction? I would like to see how you'd go about surviving a long ass battle with normal damage on.
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions4 ай бұрын
If you mean battles against 5,000 on normal player damage, not sure I've ever done that, but here's one I recall on normal player damage vs. 2500ish... There's no question it's harder to survive battles over 1,500 or so on normal player damage, but I will say most of the time I've used 1/2 or 1/4 damage, my RTS mod wasn't working so if I dropped, the battle would have degraded into a bad AI battle...

I’m running into an issue with the new update. When I tell any group of soldiers to column up… all my soldiers go in random directions all over the map and don’t listen to me and don’t fight. Please turn down music so we can hear you

I've had this issue too - I'm hoping it's addressed in a patch soon - my horse archer run for a custom battle went badly because my columned horse archers ran all over the place, to disaster... Hello there, how do you manage to make your army move that fast? I have been playing this game concurred %70 percent of the map but my soldiers no where near your soldier's speed. I use movement banners but still they are so slow compared to you. Is that because you have good lords in your party that adds more speed points?
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions8 ай бұрын
It's possible there are differences between the versions we're playing(or even console vs. pc). My regularly army often has banners that gives them 30% movement speed, but you mentioned that already. Also I have strong party leaders in my army groups that often give them a higher rate of movement speed. Finally, my last guess is that most of my companions have 300+ athletics(or 300+ riding skill), so they cruise around blazing fast because of that too.

What’s funny is watching your videos has made me re-think my character creation ideology lol. I’ve always prioritized the “soft” skills like leadership and charm etc… but watching your berserkers wreck face….. maybe I should go full combat? Idk… also goes against the “meta” of the community
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions8 ай бұрын
Use companions to boost the soft skills. I have companions with high scouting, high steward skills, high medical skills, etc - so that I can have my cake and eat it too. A view of my character build and philosophy, if you're interested. kzbin.info/www/bejne/npqTg4J3d9SEkNU
@89dgoddard8 ай бұрын
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions yes I agree to use companions mostly… the only issue is there are several perks in those trees that are labeled as “party leader” or “commander” etc that only apply to your main character.. the 275 perk in medicine is labeled as personal with that skill maxed your whole army gets +60 hp. Also, scouting 225+riding225 perks that reduce escape chance by 100% chance for lords is really valuable to a lot of people. Im not criticizing how you play, Just thinking out loud! Keep the videos coming! I think your tactical prowess is quite possibly the best on YT.

No no, I LOVE conversation about how to improve things, strategically, including character builds, companion builds, etc. - and while I appreciate your lofty words of the tactics we are sharing(the next episode is a friends suggested tcatics), I'm still tinkering with my own character in my head in case I play another campaign. and I definitely have a lot to learn still too... @@89dgoddard
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions8 ай бұрын
So I don't take prisoners in my campaign(for higher difficulty), but obviously I recognize this is valuable in an early stage/normal campaign - I guess I am confused about the medical skill because I would swear that companions with high medical skill in the army increase the troops hit points, meaning I don't necessarily need high medical skills myself, no?? Maybe I am just flat wrong(I often am!)@@89dgoddard
@89dgoddard8 ай бұрын
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions I watched a video by Strat gaming which went over all the perks and his testing found that for some reason the last perk which boosts HP in medicine only seems to work on the main character… I haven’t been able to see for myself because I’ve never gotten that far lol. I do know that many of the leadership perks are meant for the main character. Or a companion party leader. Many of the tactics perks as well have the “party leader” tag. I DO know that 5 attribute+ 5 focus points will give a max of 250 in a tree so for me at least that’s a good bench mark. Also, when i consider the combat aspect I think of the top tier troops only have around 220 skill… SO my theory is 250 in any given combat discipline will make you better than ANY troop in the game save for a few noble lords… Also roguery has a few really strong perks namely the “friends like these” at 150 which guarantees that bandit parties will join you. This paired with the veteran respect from lead ship allows you to recruit 30+ t2-t4 units very quickly and then make them top tier units
