Same! I lost my dad ten years ago and my mom 5 and this song was exactly what I needed to hear. I am really sorry about your mom passing :( Its thought when you lose that pillar of strength and unconditional love physically. All those moments that you will never to get to have...its hard to come to terms with even if time helps you cope. She is with you when you need her and always will be.

Music often makes me feel feelings I usually can't. Maybe it's like that for a lot of people. I would try to find some like, psychological reason or hypothesis for this like I do with fucking everything but for some reason I can't pinpoint why this happens for so many people. Music and the mind are both incredibly complex, wonderful things so putting the two together makes way for a lot of questions and, for someone who doesn't study music, not a whole lotta answers.
