I love how the Holy Trinity (Akane, Kanami, and Misa) always seem to work to amplify the work of the other two. Add in the "Little Pigeon" on her rhythm guitar keeping everyone together and that magnificent voice of Saiki....how can these ladies not Dominate the world!

Kanami belongs to those guitarists who have great taste and musical imagination, and compose each of their guitar solos like a song. BTW In one of her recent interviews, she said - "I'm not the type with great techniques" ... :) Well, there are two main types of instrumentalists. Those who are happy to show off their technique, and those who know, how to use it best.

The new Shibuya Line DVD/Blu-ray is them at their best. Lots of new intros to songs, extended instrumental bits and solos. I am impressed by their growth with each new live DVD

Agree fully about her songwriting abilities, such complex and ever interesting songs, like nothing else around, it’s the complete package that I’ve been searching for at least 35 years, so many of their songs combine, a base solo, drum solo, guitar solo or 2, with fast-slow, hard-soft, dark-light, all in the 1 song. So interesting it doesn’t matter I don’t understand a word of Japanese, the songs still tell their story.

She is not technically perfect - they say. BUT she plays from the heart and her riffs are so memorable and full of emotion. I don't know of a guitarist I would rather listen too. She is the best.

I joked with Saiki in one of the nice breaks they take, she is a young girl who blushes and protects her smile, but then on stage, she becomes a black queen with a vampire smile and has an otherworldly charm. When she lowered she was a few centimeters, I felt her breath, and I had her hand with those incredible long fingers that danced in front of my face, Saiki has wonderful eyes up close and a true vampire smile, she fascinates you very much. But you will never see anything vulgar or sexual, they are truly fascinating but chaste.

(Hahahah)All these emotions come back to me every time I see a video of the Band Maid, and I return in 2018, I was waiting for the European dates of their new 2020 tour but then everything went up in smoke with the covid 19.In any case, if they pass by you I suggest you go to the concert, you will find the old emotions you felt with the super bands of the 70s and 80s.then when I read that Akane before joining the Band Maid he had studied the drums for only 4 years, I can't imagine where she can go.

Mincho’s true worth is her sing-outs behind the main, vocal’s melody. It may not sound standing out since it’s running behind ‘catchiness’ of the vocal. But, she’s putting a lot of her musicality there. Don’t hope you miss it.

You get more views on BandMaid than anything else. That's cool. I could just listen to them in the background all day; but my neighbors would probably call the cops. Oh, what's in the glass? Craft beer? It looked nice until I remembered that, lol. I have an eastern European's taste in alcohol: sweet fortified Georgian wines. I like beer, but my brain says it should be sweeter and less hops, too. So gruts or gruits not beer. I know, it's weird.

Band Maid are a "super-group" without having actually played in another successful group. (Eg: Chickenfoot, A Perfect Circle, Temple of the Dog, etc) Kanami is a great songwriter. She constructs her solo's according to the song. She is an A+ all-round guitarist. Is she the best at anything.... No!! Is she good enough to be placed in the top 5% of guitarist..... Maybe. But here's the catch. She KNOWS here strengths and weaknesses and not only does she play to that, she's always looking/knit picking to be better ........ and for that matter, all the girls in this band do so. Weirdly maybe, Band-Maid turned me into Show-Ya - because I was searching for those who came before. And oh boy what a treasure chest! They had a momentum between '88 and '91, they really should have been world famous. I managed to find all their records (with Keiko, not interested in Stefanie's SY). Miki "SUN-GO" Igarashi was - and still is! - an amazing guitarplayer, easily as talented as anyone from the west, male or female. She must be truly inspiring for the young generation.
