I would like to point out like in other videos, Frogan was only banned for 30 days supposedly for hateful comments or her twitchcon actions and only after public backlash, meanwhile a Vtubers gets perma banned just for showing less skin than some of the the non-vtuber streamers.
@reveral9880Ай бұрын
I understand everyone's focus on v-tubers right now because the new unfair rules, but twitch has been "perma-banning" even none v-tubers, smaller streamers for the tiniest mistakes. I seen women that are serious gaming streamers being banned for making an extremely light sexual joke for the first time in half a year. Meanwhile actual sex workers doing striptease, pools and mainly sexual content to market their onlyfans. They dont even get a temporary suspension. This is not only vtubers problem. This is overall twitch problem that been happening for at least 5 years. Word equality is not in vocabulary for Twitch, and there is zero morals behind their actions. They only do what they think will give them positive social points for marketing purposes. They happily perma ban a black guy that being harassed by a racist stream-sniper because it removes the problem out right, without needing to spend time to review what actually happened. And nobody would be the wiser, because nobody knows or cares that a small streamer with 10 viewers disappeared. The only reason you mostly see news about v-tubers right now is because this is that time of the year where twitch chose a specific group to crusade against, and there fore affecting bigger more known streamers from that group. Next month they will change their pretend morals again, to fit the next narrative trend.

Here in Indonesia, the ban of asmon's really celebrated as if it was the second coming of jesus or something. All the content creators treating it as a good things and the comments aren't any better either I personally feel like it's just obnoxious how Indonesian will value another country more than their own. Cuz seriously, tell them to named everything wrong with Indonesian and they could give you a list so big it can be turned into a book. But once you tell them what's the bad thing about Palestine they'll loosing their mind?!?! They don't speak their language, they don't know who's the president or its cabinet, they don't know when Palestine independence are, they don't even know who's the founding fathers of Palestine. And yet they value their country more than their own.

Asmongold was the anti-hero Twitch didn't realize they needed. He perfectly played the role of the decoy antagonist who took the community's focus away from the true evil masterminds and Twitch itself. The moment he was taken out the picture, it became evident that he was just the "bad guy" who had to be hated as it was necessary for keeping the status quo.

Honestly think banning entire countries worth of people from using a service over a conflict 99.9% of them have no part in to satiate a bunch of people who have even less connection to said conflict is goofy as is. Twitch's unequal enforcement just makes things dumber, especially when they are so blatant about it so often and it takes a lot of backlash for them to do their actual job in a fair manner

i'm starting to think that this was Asmongold 200 Billion IQ move Twitch, being a Platform full of ParaSocial people, and more, those people will require Confirmation to their ideas, Now that Twitch took action on Asmongold, which is perfect due to both haters and How his Comunity is Built Now twitch made people Aware of a situation, and that situation easily causes Drama (Twitch doesn't want Drama, their main Goal is people) also, Asmongold is Riding this wave (ok, his play might have been accidental, but bursting the bubble and attracting people that seel confirmation in their own beliefs.....)

I don't think a meme cake of 9/11 is too awful, personally. Certainly not after 23 years. Yes, it was a terrible thing, a truly heinous act of terrorism, but nothing should be off limits for jokes. Nothing. It helps us to heal, when we laugh about the horrors through our tears. It's the double standard that you know is in place that I object to. I'm happy that people are pushing hard to make Twitch hold streamers to some semblance of the same standards.
@Coconut-219Ай бұрын
Yeah. I am more offended by the broader moral character of the person than the joke. The joke by itself without any context I wouldn't even care about really, I am an enjoyer of jokes. It's the person and the motivations behind it that I take issue with.
@sentinel7672Ай бұрын
I think there's another aspect to Asmongold's ban that I haven't seen mentioned: Twitch has unintentionally set a gold standard that all metrics of a ban can be compared to in a vacuum. We now have an idea of how long it *takes* Twitch to ban someone that they actually want to ban (without massive community backlash forcing them), how long they'd ban someone for without outside influence or their own internal bias, *and* what that ban was for. Any ban (or failure to ban) for TOS violations going forward should absolute be compared to Asmongold's ban whenever it happens. By this metric, people like Hussan and friends should be permabanned from the platform immediately. The camgirls who are on their 30th suspension since the start of 2022 should be removed too. After all, Asmongold got hit with as long a ban as he did for saying one thing...
