Banshee at Kings Island full announcement

On August 8th 2013, Kings Island announced they will be opening the worlds longest inverted rollercoaster in April 2014. We were there to capture the moment live. This video has the full 17min announcement.
Banshee is a Bolliger & Mabillard Inverted steel coaster. It is 4124 feet (1257 meters) long, has a top speed of 68 mph (109 kph) and has 7 inversions - Dive Loop, Loop interacting with the lift hill, Zero-G-Roll, Batwing, Outside Loop, In-line-twist.
Kings Island is located north of Cincinnati in Mason, Ohio.

Yeah that was pretty funny lol. The energy surrounding this ride announcement was just awesome as was the video. I still consider this the best ride announcement in Kings Island history. Then again, Banshee was arguably the most important ride, aside from The Beast, that this park ever debuted. Diamondback opened just months before SOB's closure in 2009 so the park had a great Spring followed by more negativity and headaches caused by SOB not too long afterward. Then that ride sat closed for 3 years while everyone wondered what was happening to it. Even after it was demolished at the end of 2012, nobody knew what the future held for that giant space of land. So this epic ride announcement, along with how awesome Banshee is as a ride, was crucial for KI's future. It's probably restored people's faith in the park and therefore increased their attendance which has helped them pay for the rides they've built since then, Mystic Timbers and Orion. A record breaking B&M invert was a very good choice and filled a void in the park's lineup.

The elevation change is going to make this especially cool at night. The elements will be huge in the second half when the ride reaches it's top speed. I love temperature changes on rides when you travel terrain. The low swoops into the low level ground at the end then the high flying in the air before the finish looks really fun.

I'm actually surprised nobody's made a big deal about the name. Mantis @ Cedar Point was supposed to be Banshee but a newspaper didn't like the meaning. What's so different now, considering the fact that every little thing has to be deemed offensive to somebody. The only thing offensive on this ride are it's restraints, they hurt your collar bone...

My guess is the program is Solidworks and no Kings Island doesnt need an Intamin. Cedar Point is 4.5 hrs away if people want their Intamin fix!

Good for dependability and middle of the road thrills, BUT they need to consider the #1 and #2 rides in the world years running. Millennium Force and Bizzaro. Who are they made by? Intamin. Yes, they break down more often, like a sports car, but offer far more thrill. Kings Island has the land to build an Intamin Super Coaster. I don't care if we have to wait 5 years, go Intamin next time and make it 8k feet long.

PastTime777 Cedar Fair no longer works with Intamin. With the success with Fury 325, Kings Island would most likely get a B&M .

@coastergeek98. Doesn't amusement parks in the UK have height restrictions set by the local government still? I remember this is why the NEMESIS coaster was damn near dug into the ground when it was built because it could only be so tall. Now Blackpool Pleasure beach is a different story. PEPSI MAX BIG ONE is slightly over 200 ft. If I'm not mistaken.
