I was 6 years old and marathoning this coaster. I remember my sister told me that the loop was from a different ride and they built around it. I remember getting on top of the first hill, over 200 feet in the air, and freaking out because I saw it was a part of this ride. That's how I went on my first coaster inversion and got rid of my fear of inversions To this day I say it's the best ride I've ever been on. Over 200 coaster credits and nothing will top this. I was 14 when it was finally shut down, only 10 years old when it gave its last ride. Looking at POV videos like this make me confused. The experience I remember was so much better. Really cool to see such an old POV. For a ride made out of cheap plywood that looks like toothpicks, the scale of this thing will never stop shocking me. I remember as a child I saw a documentary on Travel channel and it had a “teaser” of this ride. I thought it was fake, because wood coasters didn’t have loops. When I finally realized it had been real about five years ago I became obsessed with POVs and the story of it. Also, since this is Japanese and from roughly 2002, I am assuming that this person had a really fancy digital camera that might not have been available in America! 😂 Love how this POV makes it look pretty tame, yet you can see how it’s swaying. This could have been a great coaster if KI had hired a legitimate manufacturer. The layout is awesome but it hurts just to watch

How did you film this? I mean the ride hasn't operated since 2009, its been over 10 years. Have you just held on to old footage for all this time? But seriously, incredible work. I grew up with that ride and this is the best video I've ever seen of it!

This looks like a fantastic wooden coaster, and I've watched a few videos on its demise, and still can't understand why many people didn't like it and management ended up getting rid of it. Of course a wooden coaster is going to be bumpier, that's just a fact of life. This seems like the ultimate wooden coaster. I don't get that people claim the layout was boring or uninspired, etc. This was an amazing coaster and it should not have been demolished.
@c.nk.01 Жыл бұрын
while wooden coasters are obviously rougher than steel ones, this one was just a mess from start to finish because so many corners were cut during construction that it made the ride legitimately dangerous to ride. the ride was poorly built and genuinely unsafe for people to ride.
@bporada66 Жыл бұрын
@@c.nk.01eh, sort of? It had one incident where the track broke and sent people to the hospital. The other incident where a lady claimed she suffered an aneurysm or something was never really proven to be SOB fault, they settled. Cedar Fair actually cleared the track as being safe to reopen after that, idk if they were fearful of future liability or if there were too many maintenance costs where it was a money pit. But to say “legitimately dangerous” is a bit of an overstatement imo.

I actually rode this ride in 2003 and the loop made me sick. 😂😂 I literally threw up after getting off.
@glooper4 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it was the loop that did that. I think it was ur internal organs getting thrown around from the roughness.

Amazes me I rode this thing 20 times in my life, and somehow I am alive. This is one of two coasters in my life that beat me down.

As poorly as the beast turned out, I absolutely respect the ambitions here. It may not have been as thrilling in person as the video makes you believe, but I love the idea of such a massive wooden coaster that isnt afraid to go upside down
@jonlockett97323 жыл бұрын
PLEASE Keep this wonderful Video on here.It is super Quality ,full front seat ride,with the Loop.Some of the Videos don't necessarily pre-warn that the Loop is gone.Many others turn out to be a lot of off-ride footage.I was getting crazy just now,but then I found this Video of yours.Awesome.

what kind of camera for 2002??! holy wow that was awesome. never got to ride this one. had the opportunity back in 2009 sans vertical loop but got sick with the flu and couldn’t go :(

Rode it opening day. It was rough and intense then, while such a fun ride, it definetely hurt riding shortly into its very short life.
