@@alanbrown1563 I used a Motobatt MB3U. It is a bit of a squeeze but with some foam and a longer strap just manages to fit. They do a slightly smaller capacity battery, MB2.5U which may have been a better fit but I'm happy with it. Best wishes, Dean.

I'm with you Dean. Both crimp and solder. I also like drawing out the circuit I'm working on rather that trying to follow all the very close wires and small print in the manual diagrams.

It took 3 minutes looking at the broken wires, insulation tape repairs and the horrible corroded Wipac hardened rubber switch plugs to decide that the £63 pounds for a complete loom was the cheapest option ( money and time wise ) to see if the bantam runs before delving into it ( i really don't need another project in many pieces 😁 ). Yours is coming along nicely.

Thanks very much. I hope you get yours running soon. There are quite a few configurations of Bantam wiring, I'm not sure which one the new Lucas looms cover. It's all fairly straightforward though so you should be fine. I've subscribed to your channel, you do some very interesting shedology! Best wishes, Dean.

Another very informative video and totally agree, earth wires are your best friends. BSA rear brake switch mechanisms do go from one extreme to the other, simplicity of the Bantam to the overly complicated A50/A65 which has a total of 9 parts (including bolts/washers) and that's not including the 5 parts required for the brake stop adjuster!

Thanks Ian, I just can't bring myself to fit a Japanese style switch. That may change when this one packs up!

My favorite subject.....wiring. Not! But must be done on occasion. Having computer problems Dean. My last video I had to use a old lap top to up load took almost 16 hours. Guess its time for another. I know about as much about them as I do wiring. Which is almost nothing. Good informative video Dean, and thank you so much for the shout out for the channel.

Thanks Dale, always happy to shout out. I do all of my filming, editing and uploading on my android phone. It took three attempts to upload my latest video so I think I'm in a similar boat. Hope you find what you need. Best wishes, Dean.

Absolutely brilliant video that is packed with top quality (as Mr Jarvis used to say) information. I thoroughly approve of having a separate earth wire running through as well as good frame bonding to give the same potential everywhere. Great to see the tools and kit you use. And you can never have enough multimeters! I currently have six. Last of all, thank you so much for plugging my channel, I do appreciate it hugely. And as always, much love to you, Rebecca and the boys.

Great work Dean. I think you're being a bit harsh on yourself about the rear brake switch, I think it looks the part. It's not easy to make "add ons" like that look the part, but you have. Couldn't agree more about having an earth wire in the loom. I get so many customer enquiries about lighting issues, most of which are on freshly painted or powder coated bikes. I think you can guess the first question I ask in relation to earths! The yellow Motobatt batteries are a good choice too. Looking forward to your next installment.......regards Bones

Cheers Bones, we will see how the switch gets on. It has a rather nasty feel to it, as many aftermarket parts seem to have. Best wishes, Dean.
