Banyan Tree Update - 1.5 yrs old!

Here is an update to my 1.5 year old Banyan Tree that I planted in the back yard of my Florida home! It is now over 12 feet tall, 6 feet wide and having a trunk of about 3 inches in diameter! It is growing beyond my wildest expectations!

Mine was stuck in time, zero new leaves for 7 months. 100-watt LED lighting, southwestern window exposure...nothing. After 7 months, I put it outside on the patio. 4 new leaves in 4 weeks.

I saw banyan tree first time in South Florida in late 1970's! But banyan trees can grow in Central Florida as well too !!!!

It is an invasive species. Lets hope the wasps are lacking.

Those are root which in itself span out as part of main tree and this tree can spead 100s of meter in breadth

Sir. I think you have planted too close to home, when it grows bigger roots will damage your home foundation. Banyan tree roots spred so wide.
