Banyuwangi to Mount Bromo, via Probolinggo (including Probolinggo scam) | Vlog #21

After visiting Mt. Ijen, we headed west to visit the last volcano on Kasia's list - Mount Bromo. In this very practical episode, follow us on our way across Java. We will commute 200 km 'only' but it took as an entire day and involved several transportation modes.
First we traveled from Banyuwangi to Probolinggo via train which took u 5 hours. Then the real adventure begins. We wanted to use public transportation to go from Probolinggo to the mountain area on the edge of the Bromo, Tengger, Semeru National Park . Unfortunately, instead we fell into the hands of the Probolinggo scammers, a mistake that will hunt us for the next few days. (We will prepare a separate episode to explain the scam to you!). After several twists and several hours of waiting we made it to Cemorolawang by a mini-bus that we had to privatize as a result of the scam.
As you will see in the video, we kept the spirits high and we end our intensive day with the highest prize of all - the sight of Mount Bromo.

There few type class economy, premium economy, business, executive class, panoramic, luxury like plane seat, and kompartemen class this is like $100. But i usually also took economy or premium economy

That chartered minivan looks miserable 😐 If you're this unprepared, it's best to follow the mainstream route and always stick with major cities (major cities=competitive price & service). People from Banyuwangi usually take the Malang train because it's the most convenient way to do Bromo, while some people with travel agencies transit in Probolinggo and stay in one of those cottages and hostels scattered around Bromo.

It wasn't our preferred choice. 😅 We took the Banyuwangi to Probolinggo train (the Malang train which goes through Probolinggo). What we missed was booking transportation via our hotel for the final stretch from Probolinggo to Bromo (as far as we know, there's no train that takes you directly up to Bromo). Then we stayed at a hotel around Bromo. We'll update everyone on this specific Probolinggo experience in another episode. Thanks for the tips!
