Didn't you already put the controller on the floor when Mantis asked you to? Seriously though, that was an epic moment seeing both Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow - renowned Metal Gear legends - reappear with their signature traits that made them so memorable. In retrospect, we probably should've seen it coming considering the use of both a Mantis puppet and a Sorrow puppet. I like to think that it's also cool symbolism; Both Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow were like actual puppets which lead to their respective deaths. For The Sorrow, it was the fact that either he or the Boss had to die to keep their son alive and The Sorrow chose himself to die, and for Mantis, it was his succumbing to his nihilistic views stemming from his childhood and following Liquid just like he'd been since the events of MGSV when they were kids.

When The Sorrow himself made a return to help you, I got such chills that I shivered. For some reason, hearing and seeing him, I was washed over with this feeling of un-explainable happiness and sadness at the same time, and I felt like I wanted to cry. It was an unusually powerful moment.

There's two version of the 5th, Ground Zeroes (Prologue) and The Phantom Pain (TBA and Actual Game), That trailer you're talking about is for The Phantom Pain, it's not really confirmed if it is Psycho Mantis or not, but many speculate that it is him in a younger form

CLEARIFICATIONS (AKA Explinations): when he says you have different hardware he means the differences in "Memory" between PS1 & PS3 b/c PS1 allowed games to openly view what games are stored where as PS3 has a more developed complex system that has "given up" the previous feature. When it comes to the rumble feature its practically the same thing state thing differences in Playstations advances in controllers. Yes it vibrates but the differences are that the corded PS1 controller allowed it to be directly influenced by in game player controlled actions where as PS3 vibrations are different with its Rumblepack by used primarily through game scripted codes.

If you used the Sixaxis controller, the PS3 controller with only Sixaxis and without vibration, he said something about it not being there. But when using the DS3, the vibration is back into the Playstation controller. Hence "Vibration is back"

it's called 'breaking the forth wall'. in MGS1 psycho mantis did it extensivly. Like he read your memory card and then he said something like "so, you enjoy playing 'Suikoden' hm?" Then he did the vibration thing, and he even used a power called 'Black out' Which made your TV look like the playstation disconnected by putting a green 'Hideo (instead of Video)' in the upper right hand corner.
