This is day 1 of me learning the Charlier Cut, & so far, so good! I can do it! After a fashion. I understand the process and I'm doing my repetitions and starting to develop that 'muscle memory', but... The reset! After each (successful) cut, I have to 'tidy' the cards before I can repeat it. Almost every time! Could I be holding the cards badly, maybe? My suspicions are twofold... 1. I'm doing it wrong. 2. Gravity works differently on my planet! Hopefully, by the time you read this, I will have worked it out for myself and moved on, but I suspect many other beginners (like me) will be experiencing the same issue. Any thoughts? Btw: If I ever win the Lottery, I'm gonna make you disgustingly rich as a "thank you" for this channel! 😁

If you have small hands, you could also decrease the amount of cards in the deck. You still will have to release the cards from your thumb, but it will be a little easier when you are still learning.

Is there a way to do multiple cuts with the "small hands" version of the move? I can't manage to keep the first cut under my thumb
@BaoMagic4 жыл бұрын
I would say try to maximize space by holding the cards at the very tip of your fingers to allow contact with your thumb. If that is still not possible I would suggest a bridge sized deck!

I have really wide hands but a very small fingers, is there a way to make more space near the thumb doing the running charlier cut?
@BaoMagic4 жыл бұрын
My best tip is to try to hold the pack as far as possible near the tip of your fingers or to use less cards (like remove the jokers or half a deck). The running charlier will unfortunately require you to be able to hold the top pack and I haven't been able to do a running charlier with a jumbo deck... yet 😂

I will surely practice more with this tip, I mean, practice makes perfect 😅 even though I actually learned an improvised little triple one handed cut out of it, still worth it!

It's literally driving me insane. I'm so sick of not being able to do it and seeing people on KZbin do it every day drives me mad. I've been trying and trying every day for two months. Why did you kind of rush with the running charlier cut? I have very little idea on how to do the cut ver itself and just have an idea of what it looks like when you do it. The part that is killing me is I have no idea how you are holding the cards from the first cut as you drop more no matter what I do I have to move the cards under my thumb with my other hand to drop more. Edit: Seems like everywhere I look the running cut is only meant for bigger size hands as normal size hands don't have the thumb range to put playing cards under so guess my hands are just too small lmao
@BaoMagic7 ай бұрын
Did you finish learning a proper charlier first? The running charlier is taught with the assumption that you’ve already learned the original cut.
@TheRealZachTV7 ай бұрын
@BaoMagic I can do the cut a few times in a row without any mistakes, but I can't seem to master the running cut. It might just be that I need more practice or I don't have very good range in my hand YET! Also just wanted to say thank you for the video! @nonyafletcher6013 жыл бұрын
My hands are so small I cannot even lift the packet while holding the one between thumb and middle finger. So I cheat. I find holding the to packet at the fingertips doesn't work for me. Instead I just hold the top on the last knuckle of the fingers, then balance to do the cut. Wink magic had a video that shows this similar to this way too.
