This is by far the BEST tutorial out there: the initial movement is the key to this cut. THANK YOU!

I don't need to watch the tutorial. I saw the creator said "small hand does matter", i smashed the like and sub button.

You are an amazing teacher. I may have told you this already...but it's worth saying again. You are clear and straight forward. Thank you.

I have been trying to get a hold of this cut for sometime since I also have small hands. The small "adjustments" you show in the sleight do make all the difference, having, somehow, gravity to work for you and help you complete the cut. It is all in the balance and understanding how the weight of the cards help you. Thanks for a wonderful and clear explanation!

Excellent tutorial! I was struggling like crazy trying to learn this, and had almost given up on it, but after watching this and working with half the deck, I was doing it successfully for the first time after an hour or so. Within two hours I was doing it with the full deck. Thanks for a great video!

Waow man, some awesome tips here, and for small hands on top of that ! And with a mysterious green toothbrush in the background ! So progressive and smooth... who would not appreciate how you manage to talk about a certain amount of all the difficulties we could have to go through... ? Like the little card on the bottom scratched by the first figner's nail... I started with your rev' cut video, was really seduced by your "step by step" approach so i came here too, and now i'll be really happy to follow your tips as much as possible in order to complete other tutorials on the internet with your precision and smoothery. Thank you so much !!

Yeses it matters very much especially as a girl who is barely 5'1 ..so a lot of these moves are very difficult so thank u thank u thank u for making videos for us ..I'm worried mine are actually too small to do these cuts and shuffles..I hope not

How do you get the deck to end flush/lined up though?!?!! Even when i "push" them back together with the middle and ring, the portion of the deck moving the top gets caught by my pinky finger pad 😭 i want to be able to repeat the charlier continously without my other hand making the cards neat again. thanks for the great video.

I definitely agree. You can really do almost anything, small just means you need to work on flexibility and small modifications.

Problem for me is my palm is normal size but my fingers are too stubby. I can’t do much of this without dropping the cards on the ground. If I had a small palm but normal length fingers, I’d be able to do it.
@LearnYourMagic2 жыл бұрын
I forget if I mention it in the video but, you may have to do a bit of balancing. It sucks cuz you have to move slow when you start and its way harder slow but as you get faster it should get easier. It might be i just dont teach a good way to do it with your hands. Try to accomplish it anyway that works.

Don't mean to be a jerk, but if it were one of my videos, I'd wanna know. It's spelled "Charlier." It's a great tutorial, though. Really liked the video.

What's considered small? I cut out a 1/3 of the deck. I followed the steps up until when I need to push the index fingers to clear. The problem there is that the width of the cards upright on my palm and fingers bent is about the same height. So all the cards I'm holding up have no room. The cards just fly out. My hand length is about 15 cm. I'm sure there are other techniques but my hands are short.

Hey thanks for reaching out and watching. I think I understand what your asking (im not 100%) but it sounds like when your trying to clear you dont have the space to clear. My hands are 17cm so you got small hands too for sure. But i know magicians with smaller hands than me that can pull this off and make it look easy. I can also do this cut without using my finger tips. My guess is you flexibility is still not there.whats frustrating is you need to stretch your middke and ring finger as yoyr first finger curls to clear the deck. Its the two directions that make this hard. At the same time you will be balancing the cards, so your palm will be almost parallel to the ground. As an excercise try taking your first finger and thumb and press them together, at the same time outstretch the rest of your fingers. Put your hand in the position of the cut (palm up) and as your stretching your fingers also bend your wrist like your trying to point your fingers at the ground. It should help your flexibility and get you hand used to stretching. Your comment gives me an idea of how i could do a follow up vid for those still struggling. Give me a few days and I think I can add a vid that might help

@@LearnYourMagic awesome! Thanks, I thought maybe it has to do with my finger dexterity. I had a stroke 2 years ago and I'm trying new skills to help with my dexterity like piano and cardistry. I'll keep trying and thanks again! I really appreciate it.

If you have Problems, just turn off your head and do it fast, not in slow Motion.
