We are a Korean family living in countryside village in the Philippines. Today we made Filipino food noodle dish Sotanghon Guisado. This is the Pinoy style sauteed vermicelli noodles. We learned that Filipinos enjoy this Filipino food noodle dish eating with sliced bread.

Yes you can make soup with Sotanghon Guisado. Have MORE garlic. I usually use 2 garlic bulbs as I add them on other foods. Flatten them with the side of your knife then slice. Cook the garlic first with more oil until golden brown. They'll cook fast and you want them crunchy, set aside. Make them the same way as you did with your noodle, BUT add more water and add bouillon cubes. Or actual broth. Boil eggs, goes well with the soup. On a gloomy, rainy or stormy day. It's great. Enjoy and Stay safe

I think eating plain loaf bread by itself is boring. I dip my bread in my cup of barako coffee. Making pancit bihon as 'palaman' is a good idea. Filipinos even invented putting ice cream in pan de sal.

in Southern Philippines.. we called this as "Bihon" in Bisaya language.

Sotanghon guisado and Bihon is cooked the same, only difference is the noodles used. One is rice noodles the other is bean noodles. Also, sotanghon guisado tends to be more wet(not wet enough to be soup, but just more wetter because of the noodles), while bihon is dry.
