Obama himself gave the Queen a great present. Her Majesty collected things of her father, who died very young and whom she loved very much. Obama found letters of him in the White House archives written to Roosevelt during WW2. He gave them to her. I read somewhere that when he did this and she saw her fathers handwriting she kept silent for quit a bit, and then she said: "We are very grateful for this". Oh my - how touching.

I'm British. It's no surprise to me that my Queen, Elizabeth II, admired and respected President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. The Obamas treated our monarch with respect, and in turn, our Queen recognised how fundamentally kind and intelligent the Obamas were. For the Queen to accept Michelle Obama's hand on her back is testament enough. Queen Elizabeth II respected the Obamas as equals and as decent human beings. President Obama's tribute to her here is just perfect. I dread to think how his disgusting successor would refer to Her Majesty's legacy.
