A couple of things that I like about Baradul's content, and made me a sub + notifications, is that when he's aware of making mistakes when playing, he does his best to ensure he doesn't repeat them, and takes aboard the genuine critique and suggestions of his audience in a positive manner. Lost my first pilot on this mission all that I got back was the head of the Banshee he was piloting. Really enjoying the stream and seeing the differences in mechs you can find. I've only seen 1 Atlas but rocking 2 rare mech Highlanders with gauss and a King Crab right now in my play through.

Was SOOOOO happy when I found my Black Widow!! Went with the quad AC2's as well, but being as it is sooo good on heat I went with two MP in the torso, left the arms bare and went 6 tons of ammo....bullets for DAYS, my friend!! Keep the vids coming, I am just a bit ahead of you right now, I actually died my first time on the killing Kain mission...didn't see the LRM carriers in time and the Catapult sat up top with them and just rained on my parade...armor was swiss cheese by the time I fought him and he CT'd my mech....oh well, went patient rout round 2 and crushed him.

You may be better served by dropping your medium lasers and some sinks so you can mount two large lasers on the new Black Widow. The range bracket overlap would be better for your AI pilots.

Any drop that hot, I usually stay in the ship to hold it there and use its weaponry. Also, stream artemis LRMs are great. I have a gold stream LRM20 with artemis. It's practically pinpoint.

This story mission, the attack on the Black Inferno bases, illustrates another problem with your AI lance mates. They will use up their ballistic and missile ammo shooting buildings. Then, later in the mission, when you face mechs again; they will be out of ammo!!

Given that Marik is Austria-Hungaria and the rest of eastern europe in Space, Steiner stands in for Germany, Skandinavia (Rassalhague) and Scotland (Skye) and Liao is a mix of China and Russia with a bit of England (St Ives) that should not be surprise. I've gotta say: All of the small details - like actually making the 'Mechs look different when you put different weapon systems in it, & the rain on the windshield, & all that - definitely makes it worth the 8Gb of RAM that is the MINIMUM you need to run the game. And they mean 8 Gigs of FREE RAM, not the total your system can run.

I use dual AC20-BFs a lot, mostly on the King Crab and Nightstalker, and they are tremendously effective for chewing up armor. For distance shots, you'll need to aim high to compensate for bullet drop. For example, a head aim might fall on the torso or so. For the circling light and medium mechs (MW5 seems to love using Cicadas), you'll need to lead in front of the circling mech so that the curving bullets will hit it. The downsides of the AC20 is the short range and ammo dependence, but you don't need to be very close for it to be effective as long as you compensate for the distance drop.

Hey Baradul, try the normal AC20 instead of the burst fire one. Atleast imo it just feels way better. Pin Point dmg instead of a weird burst of low speed projectiles. Just a tip! Might not float your boat, but hey, atleast we both love our steiner scouts :) Also keep up the good work!

AC20 rounds drop really hard and are super slow. He tried them a few episodes back and wasn't impressed by their performance.

@@Fedorchik1536 To each their own I guess, it drops really hard sure, but the burst fire drops just the same and is spread instead of pin Point. I fail to see the Point of using burst AC20. A strafing light mech you can easily hit with a single ac20 shot and core or leg it, with the burst fire you just spray and pray :)

The first mission from this video was probably the hardest for me so far. I started it in Orion with three archers in my lance and finished it with all three archers destroyed. Barely escaped it on my Orion which had all limbs destroyed except for the left leg, center torso stripped of all armor and being dark red. Repairs cost me 2.8 million c-bills. Somehow all archers had all their limbs and torsos intact. They only got their CTs destroyed. Luckily they didn't run double heat sinks, so I just had to replace singles in CT. Weapons were undamaged though. Which is strange. Because archers tend to lose their arms in every mission. While waiting for my mechs to repair and pilots to recover, I obtained a king crab right before going against Kane. The bad thing about mission in which you kill Black Inferno's leader is that everybody targets you. My lance mates came out of that mission unscathed. The king crab I was piloting almost got destroyed though. Lost all arms and left leg. But still was able to deliver a final blow with the last remaining weapon - large laser in a side torso. What a sudden difficulty increase these two missions were!

If you're going to run the Warhammer as a brawler, it might have been a good idea to put a NARC in the Missile slot on it, so you can mark the target you're firing at for your LRM's to hit.

Annihilator with quad shotguns with solid slug is monster.

Quickdraw IV4 with one slug and one shotun LBX is a beast for a 60 tonner. Wrecks mechs and tanks alike at medium range down. Dual SRM4 backup for that extra little punch gives you some solid burst damage :)

I don't know if you check out TTB's channel but he featured a community mod that fixes the crazy stupid enemy spawns. Also he mentioned that it might help your AI pilots to place their primary weapons in group 1. I'm unsure if it actually changes anything, but anything to help those poor AI pilots.

I found that A20 does not perform the bullet drop and projectile speed is too low in comparison with the dmg it can deal. I'm in favour of double A10 + Lrm 15 PPC or LP

@@bujtorm you get your hands on a Nightstar which comes with double gauss by default. I dislike for the following reasons which might be personal problems ;) 1. The Gauss Rifles are in the arms which means in 90% of the cases you loose them first 2. You really need to have a good aim (which apparently I dont) 3. I find it hard to determine if a gauss shot hit the target. I mean the firing effect is cool but I dont see an effect on the target ... but still you could fit 2 Gauss on the King Crab but you wont be able to have full armor and a large missle and some kind of large laser

​@@hammer31515 king crab with dual gauss & ppc is beast tho. It can take down assaults pretty quick. Just destroyed my one arm once so far. And seems gauss is quite common on market on kurita space. Make sure to bring ppc carriers & brawlers to help you with the lights mechs, tanks, & flyers... Aim for the center torso, if it's an assault then pretty sure you won't miss that. At worst it will still hit the side torso

I think you should go hunt around for some urbie k-9's. They have a lot of double heatsinks to upgrade your mechs.

I bought a bunch of hero mechs (urbie K-9, awesome AW-PB, etc.) early on for the double heatsinks, but you can also just buy them from industrial hub planets and they're fairly cheap. If you really need them and don't have money to buy hero mechs, one trick is to just reload if an industrial hub planet jump doesn't have any DHS on stock. Or you can do consecutive planet jumping, any if the run is dry, reload and repeat. I have something like 40 spare DHS on top of the ones loaded onto my mechs, and I buy any I come across to maintain the spares.

@@Vendemiair The problem is that you have to grind a lot anyways because apparently lostech only appears in stores at around year 3030 ingame or simply has a very weird RNG. At Baradul's current pace he will find a DHS in a store just before the final mission or maybe he won't see a single one if he is too fast. I already finished the game and only found DHS inside rare variations of Mechs at stores, that one high reward mission that gives you 10, and as salvage in some of the last missions.

sometime it hurts to see you selling your mechs from cold storage with full equip, i think it is the problem with talking and playing. But you can see what they have on them before you sell it. And every mech you get, which lands in the cold storage beacause you have no room out of it, is as fully equipped as they are when u picked them up. So you have to drag and drop them again in cold storage to strip em fro all the weapons and heatsinks etc. Maybe it helps a bit.

how do you feel about the Mechlab in this game? like do you like that its more restrictive or do you want something like MWO? personally I don't like how it is, i think at it just encourages you to use mechs stock and play them in a specific roll. the MAD-3R for example, you cant do 3 AC/2 or 2 UAC/5 like you can in mwo and it leaves you putting a AC/10 and 3 meds with a PPC or running it stock with Lasers and an AC/5. and having multiple variants of mechs is pointless a lot of the time too, cause the variant with the most hard-points is more often than not the better one. im not for quirks coming back in any way but it would be the only thing that could make some mechs unique in this case... mods hopefully will change this lol

You should always do a shimmy between planets before buying a hero mech. It can save you up to like 10 million, but usually at the least 2 million.

When you go to Market, you have a market tab, and an inventory tab... why can't they add a "Cold Storage" tab, that would make it easy to sell stored Mechs, and quite clearly sepetates your active Mechs from your stored Mechs... 🤷‍♂️

Yeah never give AI pilots anything short range. They don't care about max range they just care about optimal range, so even medium lasers can destroy the purpose of a LRM boat. Also the go to location command seems to be more valuable in most situations than attack my target command.

I hate how this game forces you to grind so much. Lostech stuff should be walled behind a certain story mission or your reputation level, but instead it seems tied to the ingame year. Apparently you have to get to around 3030 to start seeing Lostech on stores. If you play normally you will be around the final mission at around that year, so you have to grind early to enjoy the good stuff for a good while.

1. The Inner sphere is a tiny dot of the galaxy only about 1100 light years wide. 2. Only Star League personnel were expected to be in that base to even see the map. But yes, EVERY star system in the League is a bit of a stretch. Not to mention all of the deep periphery nations that never even heard of the Star League being shown shows the lack of research.

And if the map was intended to be used as a map... Why do you use a *WALL* instead of a holo-tape (or whatever)? How are you supposed to read it? The text must be less than tiny and searching for data would be worse than in a library without catalogue. Not to mention that the location of bases is a sensitive information that should be destroyed in case of a base capture. It's a necessary security measusre. Even blowing up the wall is less reliable way to erase data than frying the computers as chunks of the wall can survive. Not to mention the danger of having a bomb in the command room that could accidentally go off.

Plus, spears didn't say it had coordinates, just that every system was charted, AKA marked. It is bad writing, you know it, I know it, the author probably knows it but did it anyway. I don't think it was intended to be a map per se, but yeaah, you wouldn't put a detailed map on a wall. Mostly because how are you going to update that map if systems are depopulated due to natural disaster or something. Just bad writing. You are correct that they would not leave a map just lying around instead of on a computer file or locked in a vault. Not to mention Kerensky took pains to remove all maps from SLDF facilities so that nobody could follow him when he left during the Exodus.

@@vantuz8264 I would argue that more expansive and comprehensive means just that. It has more star systems marked than current maps of the IS. Comestar knew where the base was. Black Inferno are just the muscle. The League engineering corps was very good at disguising bases. They made them look like natural mountain formations, lakes, and other natural formations to hide them. Anyway, I am tired of Battletech games doing the whole "Find a Star League base" trope that has been used since The Crescent Hawks Inception game. What I am wondering is who was your father? He referred to his cover being blown. Do you suppose he is ex-Comstar? He might be a Dragoon scout I suppose. Like Cranston Snord.

Baradul your great brother love the vids...I just have 2 questions, why do you always destroy the repair depots at enemies bases? I think you can use them to repair mid battle. I saw your mech approach one and the lights went from red to green on the building and the doors started to open right before u blasted it. Also you always top load on heat sinks in your ballistic capable mechs and you always run short of ammo...I have seen you do this on many vids

Baradul is a shoot first no thinking till after the battle type guy. He is very much a "twitch" combat style player. Thats just his style, it often makes things harder for him than it really is designed to be.
