Double AC10 Mayhem Quickdraw Hero "IV-Four" - Mechwarrior Online The Daily Dose

Today we are playing a devastating AC10 build with the Quickdraw Hero "IV-FOUR". The loadout is extremely fun to play because the IV-FOUR has amazing quirks for ballistic weapons, a decent speed, armor and mobility. You basically don't need anything else than those two autocannons to have a good time on the battlefield in Mechwarrior Online. You just fire them together to deal 20 damage over about 500 meters or fire them one after another to shake the cockpits of the enemy and drive them back to cover. It does not seem that much of an alpha strike but the cooldown enables an extremely good damage output while keeping the Mech relatively cool.
I really like IV-FOUR. Of course it is a Hero Mech so you have to pay real money to get it but it sits right in the bracket of perfect balance between armor, firepower and mobility. For me, it is one of the best Mechs in MWO.

I own an IV-Four, but have never found a build I liked. I don't think I've played it more than two or three times since finishing the mastering. Thanks for giving me a reason to load it up!

oh Baradul pro tip for shooting UAVs down. When aiming for the UAV look to the side of ya cross hair for the range finder. If it shows the range as an infinite symbol you will miss, if it shows an actual range then you are a right on the money! hope this helps! I've not missed a single UAV using this method so far!

While i agree that the IV-Four is a good meh, it has that arms far to the sides problem leading to several shots in friendly backs. Not saying that makes it bad, but it DOES mean playing this mech requires a higher attention to your teammates. Or even more friendly Cicadas will fall by Bara´s AC shells.

You can actually fit 2 Gauss on this mech. Also if you Dual UAC/5s you can fit 2xSRM6s on this mech.

Nice find! Alternatively you can do this build on a Rifleman 3N, although u lose the armor quirks and a little bit of ac cooldown, but instead gain the ability to peak perfectly. I do use an ac10x2 + 3ml +xl280 on my rifleman. Its enough of a threat that even assaults cant facetank you (aside from a fking atlas).

Yeah I was gonna recommend the RFL 3N as alternative for people who don't wanna spend real money. I haven't tried it with AC10s myself, but I can confirm it works amazingly well with 2 UAC5 and 4 med lasers :)

IV-4 _is_ the best dakka hero... for now. If the upcoming skill tree keeps its 5% cap for weapon cooldown (and i believe IV-4 has reduced generic cooldown to 20% on PTS), in a month or so you will find a 25% ballistic cooldown on it as opposed to current 47%. That is smth like 30% nerf to dps. So if you dont own IV-4, wait till skill tree release. With 25% ballistic cooldown IV-4 would be an awkward jumping riffleman, nothing more. That is comming from the man with IV-4 in his top-3 IS mechs, either.

Now , replace those AC-10s with LBX-10s :D , you have 2 extra ammo , and you can shoot further away for poking , and the travel speed is far superior.

I play this mech with dual ac10 ac 10 and lbx 10 dual gauss dual ac2 with srm 6s and med lasrs this mech is one of my favorite in the game cuz of the quirks

They will not be removed entirely, only reduced a bit (so far). You can probably bump them up again with some skill point investment.

According to the old TRO3025 the "IV-Four" was the Mech of choice of a real bitch - Ivy Upsalom. She called herself the "Ladykiller" for her habit of targeting and killing mostly female MechWarriors. Comparing this Build to the "old school" Quickdraw, it´s practically a totally new machine.

It's kinda sad that PGI puts some of the best variants behind paywalls... IMO the should follow the example of the Hugginn; radically different hardpoints and playstyle, but different, rather than better. It's also annoying when the best mech for a certain playstyle is a hero (I'm F2P), and being a little OCD I can't cope with having a second-rate version of another mech.

My favourite mech is an Ebon Jaguar with a pair of UAC10s. It doesn't have jump jets (which is a problem sometimes) and ammo is a problem (it's hard to get over 400 damage even with high accuracy), the UACs require a lot of face time and jams can sometimes be rediculous. It also has no quirks. But I like the dakka and the simplicity and the extra speed can come in handy. The armour's also not bad, though I don't seem very good at avoiding getting shot to shit every time I try and push. Is there a clan mech with similar properties to the IV-FOUR? And are UAC10's worth it?

It's ok you can say it, it's pay to win. It's the best variant for a reason. It's not massively overpowered but it's stronger than the others.

Not entirely removed. There will be baseline quirks on some chassis. And I checked the first PTS iteration for my precious ones. Some will be reduced quite drastically but the IV-FOUR was at about the same level with baseline quriks and skills unlocked.

For anyone reading this after the skill tree patch, with full cooldown in the firepower tree you get a total of 32% cooldown with ballistics.

Ever try to do something crazy like a light fast mech with an AC20 on it? I would enjoy seeing that for giggles. Best I can do is a 35 ton with an AC20 moving 97.2 kph on this ADR-B: mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=260&l=facbd26e9b3829c9834a776d31238009f2c5e028 I'm sure you can maybe even get one on a 30 ton or on a 35 ton going over 100kph.
