It was fun playing a couple matches with you earlier today. I was messing around with my centurion and you were in a timberwolf, both matches on crimson. We pushed through the tunnel, I was the tip of the spear to help other mechs realize we were moving and then trying to get out of that position halfway in - it ended well. The next match we flanked through the saddle - it didn't end well...

Its back for sure. But the game is also mixing tiers a lot more lately i think its something to do with a chunk of the experienced t1's giving up and so a lot of t5's are getting mixed in and LRM's are popular in lower tiers. (Nowt wrong with that, but the tier mixing is very wrong).
@ChurchAutoTest8 жыл бұрын
You mentioned your mix build stalker (2xLRM15, 2xSRM6 4xML). I am running something similar in the SNV-A, but with 4xMPL instead of MLs. Works pretty well so far.
@Hedgepook7 жыл бұрын
I had good results with a similar build on my Jagermech. 2x AC2 and 4x LRM5 with artemis and TAG. Some serious mid-long range supression with very high mounted hardpoints. Shakes them cockpits real good. Give it a try. :)
@ricashbringer98668 жыл бұрын
Tried a version of this build on my Bushwacker BSW-X2. Since I switched from 3 SRM6 Artemis to LRM 5 Artemis, I also used 4 machine guns and 2 medium pulse lasers. Worked out okay.
@sim.frischh97818 жыл бұрын
Resembles a Shadow Hawk build i use, with an additional LRM5. The Shadow Hawk is better at shooting missiles over obstacles, but can´t use said obstacles as cover as well as the Bushwacker.

Someone get this man a hot sauce sponsorship, its "good".
@oscarcoastwilde7 жыл бұрын
you know using lurms aggressively like this looks more exciting than the lurm assaults that just hang back and expect to accomplish something by missing half their shots at maximum distance

I use 2 srm4s, with a standared 280. I find despite my best efforts I end up engaging mechs up close.

Care to elaborate on the "consumption pattern" please? Thanks!
In my SHD with 4 x LRM5's, when I see an AMS in use I'll fire the LRM5's in pairs. A group of 10 or more missiles is more likely to overwhelm the AMS system than a single salvo of 5.
@annelisemeier2838 жыл бұрын
Erik Mathy every AMS I come across in my 6 x LRM 5 runs out of ammo eventually ... Since I have 1.8k missiles

Wouldn't a UAC/2 be a preferable to give them a lot of shaking madness? With more ammo and extra heatsinks as well. =3
@Baradul8 жыл бұрын
IF they get implemented in the game. The Bushwacker is an Inner Sphere Mech and has no acces to the UAC2 :/
@PinWriter8 жыл бұрын
Ah dangit, I was thinking AC/2 not UAC/2.
@ArfurFaulkesHake8 жыл бұрын
AC/ doesn't shake much though. I run a triple AC/2 Centurion and my enemies usually have no problem shooting back.
@PinWriter8 жыл бұрын
Well so it seems we're gonna wait for a miracle to happen for IS to have full arsenal of UACs. =P
@gloomygrim3388 жыл бұрын
I made something similar on a stormcrow earlier today, uac5(3t ammo), 3 lrm 5s(4t ammo), 3 medium lasers, tcomp 1 and 2 double hs. its faster and packs a tiny bit more punch but its fragile and(i would think) hotter.
@sim.frischh97818 жыл бұрын
Because of the additional heat from the Clan ER ML. The build sounds good, though.
@gloomygrim3388 жыл бұрын
It is a fun build sim, a little bit hit and miss at times but that is the uac-5s jam. still trying to find the right build for me on a crow, that one is the best so far lol

I wonder if they'll ever release a lrm 2

Its a good thing the game doesnt use strict table top rules, lest you have to retreat to a forward base to have some techs unjam that ultra AC for you >.>`.... Good build though =O Looks funs

Everyone complains about lurms. Proceeds to keep not using AMS.
@Marth6678 жыл бұрын
I reckon they should increase small LRM's spread more then the LRM20's. So LRM 5's spread the most damage with hits to the legs and arms. And LRM 10's spreading less and so on until you have LRM 20's mostly hitting the torso. This should make it less viable to run LRM 5 builds, where LRM 5 builds are THE best choice since they cockpit shake like crazy. Why take LRM 20's when you can take 4 LRM 5's to completely disable the enemy with constant blinding fire and cockpit shake.. So it goes from smaller LRM's to shake cockpits and deal a bit more damage to direct consistent damage with LRM 20's that can core people from afar
@annelisemeier2838 жыл бұрын
Marth667 good idea
@suckmeLOSER8 жыл бұрын
you got to remember that hardpoints are a thing, a mech with 2 missile hardpoints gets more out of 2 lrm 20's then out of 2 lrm 5's
@Marth6678 жыл бұрын
Which is why I mentioned 'Why take LRM 20's when you can take 4 LRM 5's' assuming that you can have four missile hard points there currently is no better choice. I mean what are the advantages of larger LRM's currently? Depending on IS or Clan they offer more damage but that's about it. IS LRM 20's fire in a volley and can overwhelm AMS. Clan LRM 20's fire sequentially and will hammer enemies out in the open. And that's it. No other advantage or incentive do you have to take bigger heavier LRM's
@suckmeLOSER8 жыл бұрын
I have a jenner IIC that I run with 6 lrm 5's and from personal experience having more lrm launchers is not always good, I've been completly countered before by teams that knew how to position and that had AMS, if I could swap them for lrm 20's (I don't think it would be efficient on the jenner honestly but) I totally would just so I could break AMS
@Marth6678 жыл бұрын
A good point, they can be countered by AMS easier. So there is some negative to using them however.. when your hitting the enemy some 180m away do they even fire back? Not often, they can barely see you let alone return accurate fire. *That's* their power. And I'd personally (if I was cheesy enough) use them, since it suppresses better then quad or even six AC/2's

You didn't make any C-Bills in that second match. That's why i don't get the popularity of LRMs, even with premium it is expensive to run.
@BlueWizi8 жыл бұрын
True he didn't make very many C-bills in the second game, but how is it expensive to run? It doesn't cost that much to buy some LRM 5's and some ammo, and you only have to buy it once. There' no resupply cost in MWO.
@ArfurFaulkesHake8 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that, when i first played you had to rebuy the ammo as well. But that was at BETA and i just got back into the game. Good to know.

Try not LRMing from max range. Do it at mid to close range. LRMing at long range reveals where you are and often wastes ammo.

Alex Salvador thats normally how he lurms
@xattr84038 жыл бұрын
ugh look at all those noob missiles in the team, I think 5 to 8 mechs in a team are lurms nowadays, they even put lurms on atlases and ebon jaguars. I also saw fucking lurm kingcrabs already. its disgusting. this bushwacker here might be a reasonable exception, but overall its people who will forever stay in tier 4 and 5. its a shame that the playerbase reduced so bad.
