The new Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries DLC "The Dragon's Gambit" has arrived. Let's take a look at all the gameplay aspects, story, new Mechs and weapon systems together. In this playthrough we will start a new career as a Mechwarrior thrown int o a conflict against our will.

The gameplay of Mechwarrior 5 is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.

The LAMS from the clan invasion mod need ammo (called batteries iirc). Your Grasshopper still only has 1 working AMS. Also those Stalker parts were off the 75t version, not the 85t.

You attacked House Liao in the Fortress mission losing 80 rep. The Reinforcement contract is the alternative reward if you don't attack Liao in the Fortress. Good backup if you have a high end exploration mission that you can do straight after. I turned Davion against me as I kept taking Fortress missions against them. The Hero Atlas was well worth it though.

With the Shadowhawk broken, those upgrades seem like a perfect fit for the Black Knight. Double heat sinks should make the lasers manageable.

The AI will get stuck on terrain if you're not careful. Best way to get them going again is to pilot the mech out of the terrain they're stuck on and then "jump" back to the mech you want to pilot. Fun fact: it works the other way too. (I've been stuck on terrain, jumped to a different mech and the AI was able to path our what I couldn't, and then jumped back) Great content as always, Baradul.

I've noticed that Bara collects money then when he has enough to do what he wants, he just spends it all then grinds out more missions. That's actually pretty normal as saving money is hard for most people and accumulating wealth is even harder for most. 🙂

Baradul, a word of caution in case you find a juicy infiltration mission, there's a chance for a secondary objective appearing at the start and causing the alarm to go off before you get to the checkpoint, i just watched @Teraflame go through that while going solo yesterday...
